Hope you have recovered from the ordeal in the dentist's chair Lexi...π¦ you were very brave...π that's not nice. x
You can come on my Parkrun with me (if I go, thunderstorms are forecast tomorrow!)... we will run nice and slowly so as not to jiggle your teeth. Take care
π π π πββοΈπββοΈ ooh! yes please BBR and I donβt mind the rain, looking forward to wearing one of my new caps. Will be lovely to run with you BBR. Xx
Sorry to hear about your long dental appointment. Donβt eat cake, itβs bad for your teeth. Just look at it. It will be a shame to eat the work of art that is the 5 tiered blue wedding cake.
Sorry about your 3 hour ordeal yesterday on the dentist's chair yesterday lexi6, I suppose that was necessary for some reason or another. I am not going to parkrun this morning, be there next weekend, this morning I will rerun run 3 of week 5 of C25K instead, on Wednesday I ran a PB 5K of 32.23.
Thereβs nothing like a trip to the UK to make me finally woman up and go to the dentist Alan. If Iβm lucky enough to meet some VRBβs while Iβm there it will be first time smiling with teeth showing for a while. π You live up to your name Awesome Al, thats a wonderful PB time. 32.23 is brilliant, I can but dream of a time like that. Enjoy week 5 run, look forward to reading your report. ππββοΈπββοΈ
That's nice of you calling me awesome Al, I had to go into my profile twice recently and change my PB time and mention my first parkrun report.
I still have the C25K app on my Smartphone and pick one of the weeks to run to from time to time, other times I will run a full 5K like I did there on Wednesday. I didn't realise that Bluebirdrunner came from New Zealand as well.
The C25k is lovely to revisit. I couldnβt get the app over here, but was lucky enough to download the podcast on my little i pod nano (loved that wee thing) when I first started. Now that I have my Garmin, its all VO2, HR etc but I love bringing the Lovely Laura out for a run sometimes. Iβm 12,000 miles away in distance, wish I was in the same hemisphere, but I run with you all in spirit. ππββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπββοΈ
This morning I did a short bike ride then came back to the house and then straight back out again and ran run 3 of week 5 with Laura, that was a bit tiring, after the run I went shopping for some of my weekend meals.
With Parkrun every other Saturday I have to buy double in the shop on the non parkrun Saturday,
Golly, Alan, you have amazing stamina! I sometimes feel like having a βnanaβ nap after a run never mind a bike ride and shopping! I do love week 5 run 3, it seemed so daunting and such a big step up but once completed it gave me the confidence to actually believe I could run for 30 minutes! π
Going to the Dentist is not my favourite thing to do...although I do use running now to help me through ... ( I do a run in my head)
Hope you are recovered now x You will have to head along with Bluebirdrunner , she will look after you wonderfully... I am hoping she will take me with her too
That's a pretty good reason for swerving parkrun, Lexi! Three hours! I saw my lovely dentist yesterday, but just a check-up and all good. Haven't always been so lucky, so I truly sympathise. I'm waiting in for my new sofa this morning so won't be parkrunning either. Bluebirdrunner could have a lot of company today π
I donβt know when I became such a big baby Floss, but while I was tossing my stress ball ( a map of the world) around in the dentists chair I was watching Michael Palin on dvd but closed my eyes and wandered off (sβpose dentists are used to π³ and imagined running alongside canals, in leafy parks AND importantly eating cake after a parkrun in the UK. So looking forward to running with Bluebirdrunner (now today) π₯° xx
Thanks BBR for looking after me, my teeth neither stirred nor shaken and the sprint finish was exhilarating. Iβm off to read your report now (polite to say a few words to OH over breakfast first π) Sunday morning is Parkrun day here! I could be gone for a while. Xx
My parkrun was virtual again BBR, Sunday morning here is just about my favourite time on this forum reading everyoneβs parkrun reports. Conversation non existent until well after breakfast! π xx
Three hours??!! Wow! I had an hour with my dentist on Tuesday and am still feeling sorry for myself. I havenβt managed to make it to ParkRun this morning but I have got up and dressed in running things so thereβs a chance I may make it out in my own in sometime this morning. Although Iβm contemplating making cake instead now!!
Getting dressed in running things is a good sign, shows commitment, thereβs always next week for parkrun. Donβt think about or look at photos of cake, especially on this site. We wonβt mention names but you know who you are BaddieThePirate. π€«
Thanks Fab, feeling so much better and overdue for a run, that I am going out for a little βun this morning. Its been pouring for the last two days, so Iβm off to have a splash in some puddles. π₯° x
Thanks Pianism, the worst is over π¬ Iβm hoping to get to parkrun next week, my last one before flying out. All you volunteers are so generous and brilliant thank you. π
Thank you Tbae, this trip has been a long time coming, making up for the one cancelled two years ago. There must be a reason for everything. Two years ago I couldnβt run, having never heard of C25k or this forum. A year after graduating, I now have a sometimes questionable taste in Lycra π have lost over 10kg, my arthritis has eased (your enthusiasm for Fast 800 was key to me buying the book) ππ» Love this running. Canβt wait βοΈ
ππππ that cricket game was astonishing Tbae. I donβt think Iβll be getting up in the early hours to watch the netball though. We always choke when we play Australia. π I was too short to have any impact when I played netball at school, so chose hockey instead π Armed and dangerous me. ππ»
My son in laws father in Melbourne is not too pleased with the POMS he does not care who beats England. He has been very unwell since the cricket semi.πStill Oz have 5ππ€£
