Thanks lovely VRBs! You got me out there at 6:30 AM, which for this 7:30 gal is early!

You inspired me to join your early bird gang, but it is still late in terms of heat and sunshine! Sunrise was much faster than me; those sunrise times are mythic hours for me, I’m still snoozing soundly around those times.

But I’ll be chuffed with a 6:30 start.

Ran NRC Tough Day Easy Run (20 min)

Happy running, everyone!

Congratulations 👏🎉You can't beat an early morning run.

I woke up at 4.15 and saw this from my campervan.... Slightly tempted but went back to sleep instead 💤💤

yay!!! Well done you!!!

Welcome to the sun risers!! I went at 6 this morning..beautiful sun through the trees but it hadn’t invaded the coolness of the shade…the squirrels in the park were loving it, frolicking about on the cool grass..I was enjoying myself…but then…ouch…the aching that I’ve had around my right achillies for the last couple of days became more than an ache…even after I’d walked a bit and tried running again it started stinging so I had to skulk home…so now I’m sat with a cup of tea watching the sun rise instead of being part of it…couple of days rest for me and I’ll be back at it 💪

You beat me by 30 awesome minutes!

Gorgeous picture but worrisome Achilles niggles. You were right to “skulk” home and you’ll be back out there in no time!

Oh no! Being on the admin team should come with a health warning-I think we’ve all had grumbles and niggles at one time or another. Really hope yours doesn’t come to anything 🤞

I believe it comes with being a runner. When I hurt myself before I was a runner, it didn’t strike me as tragic. Just as pains of life. And you hobble and get by.

But once you are a runner, you know your happy chuckling self is so reliant on getting those runs in, that being on the IC is a huge catastrophe!!! At least for me!

I’m such a grump if I don’t get either runs or rows in.

(I think swimming does the same but sadly no ocean near enough to me)

I am so with you there!! I never, never thought I’d be the sort of person where missing a few weeks of runs would be a disaster. I guess that’s a sign of how successful the couch to 5k programme has been!

certainly has!

I'm with you there. It's so frustrating and as I'm getting older things seem to take longer to heal.

CBDB profile image
CBDBGraduate10 in reply to Bruch1

yeah. There’s that. But also we get wiser 😊? So less injuries? (There must be some advantage of getting old 🤣🤣)

Well done. Up with the larks. Peaceful at that time.

CBDB profile image
CBDBGraduate10 in reply to Doris8

oh, the larks were already lunching around the worm-rich fields, I fear. I might have to step up my early-get-uppery, to join the early larking. 🤣🤣

Thank you!

Doris8Graduate10 in reply to CBDB

Rain next week and cooler so maybe no more larking early, or are u enjoying your early runs ?

CBDB profile image
CBDBGraduate10 in reply to Doris8

I’m not sure. I certainly enjoy having done the runs early… we’ll see.

I do wake up early, but I just love reading in bed in the morning. And it’s about the only time I can do that, as in the evenings and just fall asleep too fast.

We’ll see.

Congratulations CBDB on your early morning run! I didn’t get out it was too hot so tomorrow I’m going out as it’s cooler.🥰

Yes, congratulations, CBDB! I find it's so worth getting out early - once I am out...

I've been lucky as we've been having a dry heat here in Germany. The nights cool down quite a bit - to 12 or 13°C, which makes running in the earlier morning so pleasant. Sunday night, this is supposed to change, unfortunately, and we're getting humid heat. So, I am really glad that I'll be "escaping" to Ireland on Tuesday for a much needed vacation. And, you bet, I'll be bringing my running shoes!

oh that’s nice! Have fun in Ireland!

Blimey... Well done you... I did that run on Wednesday!!! Those flowers are beautiful... will you do the early start again? :)

CBDB profile image
CBDBGraduate10

we’ll see. Strangely enough it feels it’s easier to run early on an annual leave day. On workdays I seem to leave it until the last possible moment to run AND get to work on time. Strange.

Brilliant! Well done on your early run!🙂👍

Second early run of the week for me yesterday - up at 5 and out the door by 5.30am. I love the quietness as well as the coolness. ☺️

Wowsa! I think we need a “seriously early bird gang”!

Fabulous!

Sandraj39 profile image
Sandraj39Graduate10 in reply to CBDB

..I need to be back, showered, breakfast etc and at work by 8.30, so there is an incentive! If I snooze then I miss the chance to run when it’s cooler! Looking forward to going out later on Sunday!😴😂

Fantastic! I was out early today inspired by the early birds too-this board (and the others!) are wonderful for support and motivation.

Hope it wasn’t too tough a day and that your easy run made it easier ❤️
