Parkrun and qualifying run for Team HU

Between my hip niggling and the dreadful weather, today was my first run for a week. I got to try out my new running shoes and they felt comfortable, phew what a relief! I didn't really relax into it until I heard the mapmyrun lady telling me that I had run 3km within the 30 minute limit. So this qualifies me for the HU team, yay! I don't know why the organisers have given a cut off time, I think it could put slower runners off taking part.

Anyway, just waiting hopefully for the official results from parkrun, not really expecting a new pb but you never know... ☺

Nice work Deb! New shoes did the trick, bet that was a relief, they're such a spendy item.

Thanks gog, I had worn them around the house and wondered if I should maybe have gone for the next size up but couldn't be bothered to return them. Very pleased that they were OK! I really should go to a proper shop instead of Internet shopping... 😂

Congratulations on taking part in the Vitality Running World Cup and being a member of the HU team, yes, you have definitely qualified for the event.

I ran a 6K this morning, not at parkrun but around a off road route near to where I live, that's the second run I have ran for the Healthunlocked VRWC team, got me to 10.45K ran.

Well done AlMorr, I was hoping to run on Thursday but we had torrential rain all day and I just couldn't face it! Hope you enjoyed your 6k run this morning.

Yes I did, next Wednesday I hope to run 7K and go to parkrun next Saturday for the 5K, I am using Mapmyrun for my runs connected to the the Vitality World Running Cup site, I have not had any problems with the times whatsoever connecting to that site.

Nice one! It was for international women’s day today wasn’t it? I’m going to try another one in a few weeks after I’ve done some more consolidation. Well done 😁

Yes it was and we had all female marshals, several of whom had giant pom poms to shake! It was a great atmosphere. And no rain! 😂

Well done, I know what you mean about the weather! So glad the new trainers were comfy.

Thanks Rainbow66! Last week it absolutely chucked it down, so nice to be dry for a change! Although I slightly spoiled things after I'd finished by accidentally spilling my water all down myself! 😂

Sure you weren’t missing the rain! 😂

Thanks Buddy34 - I didn't get a new pb but I did get my second best time ever so I'm happy with that! The new shoes dealt with the one muddy patch very well - no slipping or sliding.
