Today I wanted to walk, I didn't get going early, wanted to shop too so went to shop . Stopped by a park that leads up onto the Downs on way back, walked up the hill, blue sky, white clouds, birds singing in the trees, no headphones, this is nice. Passed several dogs, some of whom came over to say hello, onwards and upwards, along the top, and back down the side of the hill, I was so tempted to run but no, I'd worn jeans to stop me.Back down the path and turned into the carpark.....brushed the toe of my foot on the speed hump, down I went, I was nearly back to the car too, I'd got my phone and keys out ready, phone in right hand slid along as I landed on the back of my hand, keys in my left hand flew through the air and joined the phone.
Up I got, picked up phone, thank you case for saving it, picked up keys, limped to car and got in. Had a bit of a cry and drove home. Thanking goodness I wasn't running.
Home, gravel washed out of hands, changed and put clothes into wash, I wasn't planning on doing any washing but seemed to have dripped blood on nearly everything I was wearing.
Savlon on hands noticed elbow in mirror so put some on there too.
I'm going to sit a while and drink tea.
Took a few pictures, sun shining but looks like rain on the way.
Run happy all

I am so sorry about your fall Sola after such a nice walk, just take things easy until you feel better and can get out again, that's another nice photo you took.
Oh my goodness that isn't the end of a walk anyone wants. I'm so glad that you appear to have got away without too much damage. But that looks like a wonderful place to to walk I do love a big view.
I agree with Frizzbomb a good soak in the bath and take it easy. 🤗🤗
oh no . Just when your near the car. Have a lovely soak Epsom salts . You’ll probably feel it worse tomorrow. It looked a lovely day as well by your photo.
It was wonderful up there, I was being so careful too, stupid speed hump at entrance to car park hit the deck of gravel, if I'd have fallen on the hills I'd have just got muddy, as it is I'm missing quite a lot of skin, it's still very blustery here, but not as cold as it has been
Crikey! You were lucky your phone or your glasses didn't take a hit. Sorry you're in the wars - I always feel such a twit when I fall over - I jump up and hope no-one saw me 🤣 hopefully after your bath you can put your p.j's on and spoil yourself.
Gosh, didn’t expect an ending like that Sola. I’m glad you escaped with (I assume) just some cuts and probably bruises too. Take lots of care; we want you out running again. ❤️
Sorry to read about your fall Sola, and hope you are all cleaned up now and we’ll dressed. To keep an eye on it though. I had a fall back in 2019 and grazed and cut my elbow and forearm. It then got infected and I ended up having to have a change of dressings every other day until it got under control.
Oh my! Sorry to hear about your fall. It always comes as such a shock and really knocks the wind out of your sails doesn't it? Hope you've been patched up now and everything heals up quickly. 🤗
I used to swear by Savlon antiseptic spray, it was brilliant for everything including burns and scalds, but you can't get it any more - something to do with the iodine in it. But you might know better than me...
Oh no, awful news😞. I'm terrible for trips, tumbles and falls, well known for it within our running club. Hope your war wounds heal soon and you can get out again soon🤞
I had a tumble a couple of years ago - someone had lost some of those little driveway stones (if that makes sense), I felt like a cartoon character trying to keep my balance, ended up going over, so proud I kept onto the dogs' leads! you are not alone!
Yes that's what happened to me, I thought for a second I wasn't going to fall then down I went and slid on the gravel, you instinctively keep hold of the dogs leads
The views look gorgeous Sola, sorry to hear about the fall though, and hope you're recovering.
As for your boss, frankly I'm not impressed. To suggest going back to someone who'd already given notice of retirement, is so recently bereaved, and has not long ago had Covid, strikes me as seriously tacky. Her staffing problems are not your responsibility. She needs to give you time - and I mean months, not days or weeks - to adapt to your new circumstances, and once you've done that, you can decide whether or not you want to work again.
I doubt I'll be going back. Oddly enough she messaged and asked how I did all sorts of things, I had started to list what I did when and put a how to file together but left sooner than expected, a lot has changed in the last year and part of my decision to retire was due to the changes,
I'm cynical, having more than once had employers call me after I'd left to see if I could help them out. Nope, not after the way I was treated. Conversely, although I'm now technically retired and get my UK employer pension, I still tutor a couple of students over here, simply because the families have been so considerate over the years. It's not about the money - I'd do it for free, tbh, it's about mutual respect, appreciation and care.
Yes, you are right there, I won't need to go back and work, I've just got to work out what to do with my time, I didn't run or walk today but have been playing my 🎷 and enjoying that, I haven't played for a year, there was always part of it that he was a musician and I am just basic, now there's only me to care if I hit a wrong note
I've always been terrified of falling, deep-seated from a car accident I was in as a child, the fact that I've fallen twice now in the last few months and got up and got myself home has allayed that fear a little
As usual, late to reply…sorry! Hopefully today you feel not too sore and the weather was kind enough for you to get out for a while…run or walk…what ever your body feels up to.
Grazes are the worst though…that raw skin is so sore. Unexpected trips are so unsettling, but good job you weren’t running.
I’m with Cmoi …very insensitive of your soon to be ex boss.
Thanks 😊 still a bit achey and yes sore grazes, oh bosses, like a lot of people, putting themselves first, it gave me the opportunity though to hand back my laptop and other things, she was a bit surprised, don't know if she thought I was going back for the last few days
