We decided to take a different path, we really did think what is in the picture was the top of the hill. Until we got up there to find it flattened a bit then went up more. It’s steep which is probably why it’s called Steepdown.
Trail shoes make such a difference.
I’d forgotten to delete that one minute walk one minute run off my garmin so I had no stats just a one minute buzz so I ignored garmin, we went upwards through the woods, across the grass said hello to several dog walkers.
Up and up we went, bit of jeffing, the view was hazy the air was warm, eyes on the horizon, Willow in front, my legs ached a bit after yesterday’s hills, on we went, stopped at the top turned round and ran down... it was amazing running and listening to birds and looking right out over the sea,
Back through the woods and down hill towards the car park
4.44k so I carried on down the hill but poor garmin with all that one minute buzzing gave up and battery died not quite 5k
We had a good time, can you tell?

We’ve mostly stuck to the flat and love the track round a local park but lately it’s so busy with families not meeting their friends and kids on bikes and scooters it’s not so enjoyable so we’ve taken to the hills
Jealous! My dodgy knees were surprisingly well behaved all through C25k and the first Magic Plan, until I did my 60 minute run on a lockdown route with a steepish downhill segment...😖
Also exacerbated by my mountain walk the other week...🙄
Downhill is hard on the knees , Willow suffered terribly and always limped home until he got really decent trainers. I’m so surprised that mine even work but the strength and flex and squats seem to have made them stronger
I don’t do anything formal but fit in stretches while other things are happening, like waiting fir the kettle to boil or drying my hair, i realised the other day that those 10 quick squats at those times add up to at least 50 every day, and standing on my toes has made my feet stronger, add in a few stretches it makes a difference
You had a very good time W&S, battery died, such a pity, that is a good photo, I can see that high cloud has obscured the sun a little compared to yesterday, however, it's still quite a warm day.
I was a bit surprised at the dust, it was half way up to my knees 😂 but no mud and they still look good as new after 2 outings, they are comfy and i was surprised when we went out this afternoon i put my road runners on how bouncy they felt and a lot more flexible, hadn’t realised what a difference they would be
Blimey, well done you, that hill looks 🥵🥵🥵 i'm still avoiding big hills for now, slowly building back up.You've got such nice countryside, for your runs/walks, i remember picking up a group at devils dyke, a while ago, lots of walkers about!
It is a nice area, we are lucky to be near the sea and the downs, although we’ve walked them many times we are new to running hills, it’s fun but hard work
Mountain warehouse pace extreme trail shoes, but I’m really shallow because I chose the colour i liked at the price i liked. Yes that black dot is Willow, i kept stopping to take pictures until we turned round and ran down and then I couldn’t stop if i tried (joke it was a controlled joggle)
Thank you. Not influenced by colour, not me (cough)! I've been looking for ages - still just for walking- and it's so hard buying everything online and then sending it all back again. Those look really comfy and supportive (and a lovely colour 😳)More power to your joggle😁
