Hi all, haven't been in touch for a while because I had to very reluctantly pack the running in about a year ago as my hip became too sore. I'm sad to report that after 2 years on the waiting list for a replacement there's still no sign of one. I can't wait to get it done & get back out there - probably even slower than before, but who cares? Just wanted to check in & say if you're managing to do any running at all, well done & be grateful that you can! Hope to be in touch soon with better news.
Still waiting!: Hi all, haven't been in touch... - Bridge to 10K
Still waiting!
So sorry you’re in this position. Really hoping you’re managing to find enjoyable ways to fill your time while running is off the table.
Wishing you all the best and will be crossing fingers you’re not waiting too long. You’re absolutely right that being able to run is a real privilege. Thanks for sharing your story ❤️
So sorry to hear you’re still waiting - it puts into perspective my moans about not being able to run for a few weeks with sinus issues and calf strain - I really hope you hear something soon 🤞🏻
Hi PandaCory good to see you back here but so sorry to hear you are still waiting 😟Fingers crossed it won't be much longer 🤞
Hello 👋👋👋 ! So good to see you back but so sorry to hear that you are still in running limbo.
How is your cycling going ? Sadly we don’t have a cycling forum.
I’m sure you know, but just to make sure, we do have two other forums with many of us runners mingling on there. It might allow you to be part of a more gentle fitness regime and still be part of our running communities?
You would be very welcome to drop in!
★★★ Active10 : Active10 is for those who want to include regular walking into their daily lives, with a dedicated walking app for iOS and Android. healthunlocked.com/active10
★★★ Strength and Flexibility Forum : S&F is all about our needs as runners and walkers, or generally needing a bit more strength and flexibility-related workouts in your life. It includes a NHS-associated five-week programme delivered through a series of podcasts. healthunlocked.com/strength...
Thanks - those sound perfect for now & I'll have a look. Cycling has been going great, apart from a bit of a winter hiatus as if was so flipping cold here. I love my wee folding e-bike, but it's not the same kind of fun and sense of achievement as running for me. I see people out running & feel so envious!
Folding bikes can be great. I used to have a Brompton for getting around in Glasgow, but we sold it quite some time ago.
I really feel for you 😕😢! Stay strong and dream of getting your runner’s legs out there again!
Hallo PandaCory! I’m so sorry to hear you can’t run at the moment and really hope you get to the top of the waiting list very soon! Here’s looking forward to your post telling us you’re able to lace up those trainers again!🤗
Good to hear from you PC hope you’re not in too much pain. Sorry that you seem to be no further forward. I’m trying to run short distances and keep my hip pain under control. Had left hip injected twice now first time worked really well but second one not so good. So I’m just keeping all runs no longer than 20-25 minutes long. 🤞it seems to be working atm. You must have a nice comfy place on the IC by now and I’m sure you’re welcoming newly injured nicely and making them comfy too. Hope you don’t have to wait too much longer.
