Well what a week that was, I had a cold which wasn’t too bad then Willow had a cold and pretty much took to his bed!! he mentioned man flu and i couldn’t understand why he was so much worse than me! three days later his cold hit me and flipping heck then I knew.
So here we are almost a week later and I get a day off work , the sun is shining so we both don shorts and go to the park
This one should be called ‘The one where we reclaim the park’ because apart from a couple of people with dogs it was empty!!!
NRC first run, I’ve done this a couple of times but for Willow it’s a first
As I ran easy, I looked around, everything is beautiful, trees, grass, flowers, warm air blue sky with fluffy white clouds
The run was uneventful and easy and happy and I love running
Thank you, I love reading everyone’s posts and stats and being part of this forum
Run: 20 minutes, av pace 8.56, just over 2k
The only thing I don’t like about NRC is I can’t play amazon playlists

Oh that cold sounds nasty - but thankfully you are over the worst now and it sounds like you had a nice run. I noticed a lot fewer people in the woods lately - I think its with the schools being fully back, and now that the shops are open again.
I use Amazon music with NRC no problems. It doesn't work natively in the NRC app, but just set the playlist going, and then you can start NRC as well. The spoken word plays over the top of the music and conveniently deadens the volume a bit whilst it does so.
Oh thank you, when I tried it then started the app it went to its own playlist, I will have a play with the settings, That cold was something else but although sinuses still blocked and painful we are getting back and I’m so pleased Willow liked the guided run
I think you could be right, I’ve been thinking how to do it and am so happy knowing it will work because I’ve loads of Amazon playlists that I put together to run to
That is a lovely photo of where you run and it would be really good having the park to yourself, nice run for you Solo, there are some apps like the one you have that you can't play music with it, when I take my metronome app for cadence steps I can only have Mapmyrun for distance and pace but can't play any music as well.
I love your photo Spring is definitely here at last, although the sun has disappeared in Yorkshire today. Yes I've noticed less people about which is great 😊. I'm glad to hear you are both over your colds it sounded a particularly nasty one.
Great that you’ve reclaimed the park! Glad you’re over the worst of the cold. I share your frustration that you can’t play Amazon playlists, although often with those guided runs I don’t need anything else. Oh, I’ve just read what Birdlady posted! I’ll try that next time.
We are going downhill fast as the day goes on but loads better than we were so every day is better, we will stick with the 20 minute runs until we are fully fit
Thanks Dexy 😀Yes all the youngsters back in school and with outside cafes and bars open our park has emptied of all those people meeting up outside, it is lovely to have the place almost to ourselves again, it was the best for about a year, last year in March we walked to the Downs thinking a nice joggle around would be good and when we got there it was so crowded we turned round and ran home again
What a beautiful photo and glad you’ve got over your cold especially with sinuses involved. Your run with the scenery looks lovely very restful looking. 😀
Sorry to hear about your colds Sola but crikey, you’ve speeded up a bit haven’t you?! I’d give a lot for an 8.56 avg pace! Beautiful picture from your run!
Thanks Oldgirlruns, I don’t really know how but have more recently been doing 20 minute nike run club runs and legs feel stronger but some might be those hills on the Downs above us
Hope you can get out to run soon, there are so many different runs to choose from on there, I’ve stuck with the 20 minute ones for now but oh the choice is difficult and there are even shorter ones
You have different types of colds and sometimes you can really be hit hard. Best to treat the heavy ones as a kind of flu and take enough rest and plenty of water. Good you seem to have lost the cold now and enjoyed a good run!
What a lovely park that is - you must be delighted to be able to run in it again! Sorry about the colds but glad you are recovered and enjoying your runs again.
