Rain or indeed drizzle

My oh my! Yesterday I got a bit fed up of being flexible at work as it was my day off but I’d changed it due to interviews. When I got home I needed to go shopping, poor Willow has a really bad cold and needed things like lemsip and tissues. By the time I got home put everything away and thought about dinner I was tired and hungry, Willow can’t taste a thing so I made cheese on toast then ate crisps then cheesy biscuits then cheese, gross I know but… fell asleep on the couch then was up most the night because I was way too full

Anyway, i’m off today so I’m going for a run 🏃‍♂️ 😀👍

Watched a few youtube videos about how to run faster, breathing, posture, stride.

And off I went, I chose a 45 minute guided run and set off fairly gently, my aim to cover 5k and run some intervals.

It’s raining, well drizzle really and very refreshing. The sky is grey, the coaches talk about blue sky and I run on. I’m feeling ok, breathing through my nose a bit, that’ll need practise, lifting my knees a bit higher and pumping my arms, slowing down to recover, glancing at my watch every so often and keeping my steady pace under 10 mins per k, then speed up a bit, I’ve learned a bit about pace and finding out at what pace I can be just beyond comfortable but keep going. I really enjoyed this, and found myself at my daughters house, not visiting though so turn and run back. short cut past the fire station, round the industrial estate, back to the railway bridge, shorten my step and run up that hill as fast as I can, very slow down the other side to catch my breath.

I realise it’s not going to be 5k to home so I run past the end of our road and run a loop round, the 45 minute guided run ends and I’m not there yet so run on, arrive home stop the watch, find tea and cake ready for me, Willow must be feeling a little better.

Interestingly because of the drizzle all the way I’m not dripping with sweat as i usually am, if I’m running in the rain I need to wear a cap, my glasses were soon useless so I stuffed them down my bra and ran through a fuzzy world 🌎

Have a great week whether you run of not

I love running in the drizzle. I don’t put my lenses in till after my shower so I run in a sort of fuzzy glow most days.😂

Are you sure he’s not got covid having lost his sense of taste?

I love the sound of the cheese diet.cheese is one of my favourite food groups .. sliced/ grated/ mini baby bels just popped straight in my mouth, on toast, jkt spuds, in mash with onion, cayenne and popped under the grill… 🤤

My run today was too hot and sunny I’m afraid

I would have loved your hot sunny run, there’s a bit of blue sky here now but i knew if i waited I wouldn’t go, oh yes cheese, when i lived on my own cheese on toast was my daily diet, I’d probably run better if i hadn’t pigged out last night so much though.

I tested him 😀and no it’s a cold with a totally blocked nose, as it’s my day off I’ve been thinking great things to cook but sadly no point so he’ll have soup and toast, I might finish my bean salad with cheese on top 😂

Glad to hear you got the run you needed. Hope Willow feels better soon.

Best wishes from a fellow cheese fan!

Thank you, Willow is on the mend but I’m starting the cold now, maybe it’s the 3 days of cheese on toast
