Feel like a Running Hottie (rather than a hot runner)

I got up this morning, even earlier than Sunday! I was out there by 6 am. And I’m really proud of myself for that! And as I was the only runner out there , I was definitely the most attractive runner out there that morning! Ha!!

The temperature was ok. I knew the only way I could put in a run was running that early! 24 degrees, it seems.

NRC’s speed run loaded, title Faster Run with Coach Chelsey Cox. 18 minutes long and I kept to that duration, with alternating 10k pace recovery intervals with 1 mile, 9 out of 10 effort, fast intervals!

But as it was only 18 minutes, it was doable. And it had a 5min warm-up included, which is unusual for NRC audio-guided runs.

Back home, stretched and showered, I threw my husband out of bed, we all had breakfast and coffee outside at 7 am.

Keep cool, everyone!

Beautiful photo! 😍It was pretty deserted on my 6:20 am run as well, although the people I did see were a tad more friendly than usual - a bit of a shared special occasion.

I did think maybe I should have run in a white string vest with a hanky plastered across my head.

🤣🤣 vest sounds pretty “hottie”, head-plastered hanky … 🤔 mmh.. maybe not so much 🤣🤣

Well done CBDB I haven't tried that session on the NRC app, but it seems like a good one. It's very sensible to get out early if you can in this heat!

Very impressed! I think I’ve missed my window for this morning. If it cools down enough I’ll try at dusk but if not, rest day here. Gorgeous picture.

All the speed runs I’ve done so far on the NRC app seem to have a warm up run included. Im still adding a five minute walking warm up and cool down to all of them which I haven’t come across. That one sounds like a lot of fun!

That’s good to know (NRC speed runs having all 5 min warmup).

It’s the one thing that I would want them to add to all runs.

Yes, I think it probably will be also too hot in the evening. At least it was here, although my hubby and our 21-year old guest went out to the local gym at 4:30! The crazies! But they survived!

Well done like your photo. . U beat me to it out at 6.20 am for my 4 km walk before work and good temperature 18 degrees. Enjoy your day and keep well watered.

Wohooo! Gosh, that doesn’t happen very often that I beat you to an early outing!

Definitely on the watering!

Better than me - I skimmed todays run off as I didn’t fancy my programmed speed session in this heat. Got a 9k in yesterday, so I can live with a missed run.

Wow! 9k! Well my speed run was ultra short! 18 minutes, and if you take away the 5min warm-up, it was 13 minutes!

By far less of your amazing 9k effort yesterday! 🤩💪👏👏👏🙌🙌🙌

Yes, she is! Of course sitting outside this morning, I almost need a sweater! So today would have been better runnjng weather. 🤣 What a difference in temperature!

Well done CBDB! There's no way I could run in those temperatures, especially not a speed workout! 💪🏃‍♀️☀️🌡️👏👏👏
