This one was for you Hidden after our exchange this morning.
I really was reluctant but I’d said I would run every day so I was going. Joe is staying, Willows son and he planned to run with me but he took one look out the window and said…”i’m going to pass, the weather is atrocious “ so i sat in bed thinking i couldn’t hear rain.
Willow said he’d walk and wait for me so to the river we went, I really wasn’t that keen, we walked across the wooden bridge and it was slippery as heck, on to the gravel path and of i went, glanced at my watch to check pace only to find I hadn’t set it, set the watch, didn’t help me much because my glasses were in Willows pocket, not a lot of use in the rain,
Oh boy it’s cold out here and the rain is like shards if ice on my face and hands but I run in, a right miserable cow, then there is a little smile tugging at the corner of my mouth!
Pass a couple of dog walkers and a runner, shouting out cheery greetings, not sure what they said as my music is louder than ever, first k in 8.55 oh this feels good.
Ed Sheehan starts to sing Thinking out loud, quick glance round, no one to be seen so I loudly join in, two and a half kilometres and time to turn, walk a little, I wonder how fast I can walk? ran some more, wind in my face now but no longer uncomfortable, keeping me nice and cool, smiling and running, slower but I could speed up….tried it out and not for long I can’t 😂 😂
Well! that was fab! 5k in 46 minutes, haven’t run 5k since 20 november and that took me 50 minutes, running more often definitely makes me stronger.
So, walk back to the bridge? took the photo, shall I run over it? no don’t be silly it’s slippery as heck but then I’m a bit daft so of course I do, small steps and lightness of heart ❤️ I ran and as i ran down the other side I could see my car and ran towards Willow….who had walked a kilometre then back a kilometre then waited for me to return
Happy day 😀
