A beautiful morning, clear and frosty, what better than to do the intervals for wk 2 of the NRC HM plan? I should have done a 15 minute recovery run yesterday but figured that two walks of nearly 3km each (picking up and dropping off my campervan to the auto electrician) were pretty much equivalent so I was raring to go this morning. Then, the fly in the ointment. My business was broken into overnight. I'm 70 miles away so had an excuse not to go, leaving my business partner who lives near to deal with it. Texted him not to interrupt me as I was off for a run, knowing he probably wouldn't see it. He obviously didn't as he rang me mid interval so I ignored him.
Apart from that it was lovely! Calm and still, the mud was frozen, no wind to speak of, just bracing cold air, countryside and the river. The run only took about 14 minutes, which meant I finished in the middle of nowhere (in a good way ) so I had to walk the 3km home along the sea wall. This gave me an opportunity to call my partner back while Mr OBK carried on running (my excuse was that I wanted to stick to the plan
) You can just about see him in the picture, to the right of the boat!
I spent the rest of the day dealing with the break in but taking that time to run first was definitely a good decision. Boundaries!
PS in case you think I was being horrible to my business partner, he's actually my big brother so he's used to it 😂😂😂 AND I took over dealing with the break-in during the afternoon so that he could have a well deserved rest.
