I was a bit late leaving the house this morning and it felt really warm. Decided we'd only do 3km. Set off on our usual route and found, joy of joys, the waist high weeds along our favourite path have all been cut, it's clear and as smooth as a treadmill (apart from the piles of horse poo). The joys of living in the countryside! I'm glad I didn't have to mow all those km of pathways.
Ran for 1.5 km, turned back, took a detour because it was so nice out there, turned back again. I hit 4km as I reached the end of the path. Husband continued on to 5 km just because he felt like it.
I made a point of not checking my heart rate, running by perceived effort, and it was pretty similar to when I keep an eye on it so maybe I'm getting into good habits.
It's so great to have an excuse to be out in the fresh air! And I managed negative splits!! AND we saw a hare, which was running faster than either of us!!

That sounds like a lovely run. Nice and flat after being cut. I know what u mean about poo, stood in it somewhere this morning out on my 4 km walk, never knew till tonight when home the smell, nota happy bunny 🐰. This was on a path. Mines as well negative on walking. You had a nicer early morning weather than here cloudy and cool. 🙂
There's quite a few horses round here so you learn to dodge around it. I don't mind the horses so much, it's the dogs' and foxes' deposits you have to really watch out for 🤢
It's been really daunting the last few runs, running through a jungle is tiring plus you can't see what's on the ground below until you're there. It's great now, can't wait to go out again. It's a really lovely farm, they leave wide margins for wildflowers and even sometimes have fields set aside with sunflowers for the birds. I'm so lucky to live here
