Week 3 Done, Week 4 Run 1 Done :D

Hello fellow running friends!

I should have posted on Sunday that I ran the 5k run from Week 3, but I forgot. So for those who were wondering where that post had got to:

I ran the 5k run from Week 3 on Sunday :D

And... I also ran the 4k run from Week 4 today. I think my legs appreciated the 2 rest days, they are still getting used to running at all!! So - off I set for a fun little jaunt round Buckshaw Village where I work. It's a new town, so all the housing and roads are newish, and there's a handy cycle path around the edge of it. I walked the few minutes to get to the cycle path, for a warm up, then I turned on my running music podcast thingy, and ran. 160bpm this time, 5bpm quicker than I would normally run, but I figured if I'm going to get to 10k, I need to push myself a little on the shorter runs. Hang on a minute, since when has 4k been a short run??! I managed a pace of about 6:30/km which is good going for me, especially since the route is made up entirely of gentle yet punishing hills.

I have to say, it's times like this I wish we had a shower at work. If I stand in the hand-basin, I can't easily get my head under the tap :P

But - it was a good run, I enjoyed it, and I'm looking forward to Fridays run, which will be either 5k or 8k depending on what mood I'm in.

See you all soon, happy safe running to you all.

Neil

Oh dear that washbasin shower arrangement doesn't sound ideal. One reason I never run at lunch time. Made me laugh though, cheers! :P

Good stuff Neil. 😊 I finish week 2 tomorrow. Really enjoying the return of structure! Good luck with week 4 - not that you need it. 💪🏼

Very well done Neil.

Put in a capital expenditure request, complete with return on investment and pay back justification, etc, to that charming boss of yours and give him something to do.

That new shower unit might get him interested in C25k., lol.

Sorry Neil, you are doing great.

Go the terror team.

I have just two words to say to you, Neil. Baby wipes.

Well done on your run, I am glad it was a good 'un! 4km a short run – lol! – Did you ever think you would see yourself typing that?! I am loving your commitment to this programme, and grateful we are doing it (kind of) together.

Sadie x

Now why didn't I think of that. Seriously. I have baby wipes for when the girls need de-stickying. Pro tip there Ms Sadie :) And I also love your commitment to the programme, it's probably what keeps me driving quite hard at it... and I'm really grateful.

Thanks as always x
