Positive splits and other positives

Whilst it was lovely to spend time in a hotter climate I'm really appreciating our cooler British weather.

We set off for our run at around 9 ish, about 19C outside but we soon warmed up. Glorious sunshine all the way. Whilst my last run definitely felt like my body couldn't remember what to do, today it all started coming together again. Now here are the excuses...

We ran our usual 3k course, but when we climbed the stairs to the sea wall, around 1.5 km into the run, the tide was in! We came this same route the other day and it was just mud so of course we had to stop for a pic. Then we kept meeting people with dogs. The path is narrow so we had to slow down to get past. All this meant that the second half of the run was much slower than the first half but who cares, I'm not setting out for any world records.

Finished the run feeling like I'm really getting back into this running habit, which is great. The sun was shining, no aches or pains, positive splits even ... it's all positives if you look at it the right way :)

Sounds like a lovely run, no pressure just let your body enjoy it, that's what its supposed to be about, problem is most of us forget that from time to time, so its nice to just settle into it again. Lovely photo too!

Thank you, we live in a lovely place which helps a lot.

At the start of the run I was running a bit quicker just because it sort of felt like the right pace. Not sure I was actually running that much slower during the second half, I just kept stopping. Which was pretty nice too :)

It was great, what was odd was that everyone seemed to be walking two or more dogs, not just one. Maybe it was just that sort of morning :)
