Well, life threw me a curveball in my ever-so-well planned programme of getting back to running.
Thought I had a cold which started on Tuesday, tested negative on Tuesday and Wednesday but this morning struggling a bit with coughs and tiredness, I tested positive for Covid!
Bummer! I managed to keep COVID away from our family for 2 years, but Monday we had an all staff physical work meeting, so that might have been the source. And who knows, my sonsโ school could also be the source. A reminder to us that the pandemic is not over.
So now the whole family is down with Covid-19 but being double (son) or triple vaccinated (hubby and I) I hope it keeps the symptoms at bay.
But there is no way I can imagine running, rowing or even yoga! So another pause! But on a positive note an opportunity to read all of your inspiring posts while I rest!
Keep safe everyone!

Oh no CBDB I hope you and the family feel better soon! Hopefully you wonโt be too badly affected as youโve had your jabs and you can get back to exercise very soon. Take care
Oh no! Itโs definitely not over. I know so many people now who have had it or have got it currently. The good news is their recovery has been good and hasnโt taken long.
Great to hear! Itโs my first COVID, so feels daunting. But Iโm ok.
Blimey, you're not having much luck with the IC / SB (sick bay) are you.
Wishing you a full recovery but please be warned .... even if you don't feel too bad with the illness it may take longer to fully get your fitness fully back.
Dont feel frustrated like I did. It is just one of those things so please take it steady and don't "force it" leading to another injury ๐
Iโm so sorry CBDB ๐ข Youโve been so patient with your recovery.
The virus hit our house this week as well with two down out of seven. Our close contact rules mean everytime someone tests positive the isolation rules hit reset again on 7 days. Iโm slowly watching my marathon training go down the drain.
Youโve been an inspiration in your positivity so Iโm going to get out my Pilates mat while Iโm virus free & channel some of your enthusiasm.
Awwwhh thank you! ๐ฅฐ Sending you also some healing wishes.
Itโs just us three in our household and we all have it. Somehow that makes it easier, although two years ago (pre-vaccination era) I would have been panicking about this scenario!
Sorry to hear that RunWillie . Be reassured, though, that your marathon training has only been thrown off schedule, it's not going down the drain. Over my fortnight's summer holiday last year I think I did four flat, undemanding, boring 5-7k runs, and I still managed the trail marathon just over two weeks after I got back. You've been putting in plenty of miles, you'll not lose all the fitness you've gained by any means. ๐๐
There are more and more people getting it at my work as well. I keep my fingers crossed. I am four times vaccinated, but due to my medication, the vaccines don't work as well as with 'healthy' people. So I am scared of getting it and the rules have all been let loose here in Belgium. Take care!
Yeah itโs a bit scary! Mask wearing seems to have gone out the window here in England, as well.
But just in case it helps, I feel grotty, as does hubby, but although weak and coughing, weโre ok. So I assume each vaccination adds to your bodyโs ability for fighting the virus. (And we had stocked up on Vit C ๐)
Oh no . I hope you are all on the mend soon. Look after yourselves. My son had it a couple of weeks ago, having avoided it up till then, her went through a lot of tissues ๐
Thank you. Weโre probably fortunate getting it so late. Omicron and the fact that weโre vaccinated makes it less severe. Annoying chesty cough still and headache, though. And very runny nose ๐คง๐คง๐คง๐คง๐
Very sorry to hear you've gone and got cover CBDB. Hopefully a mild dose and you get your energy back soon. I've taken to the rowing machine like a duck to water๐...doing half hour sessions twice a week.. Its about 4500m each time. I like the steady rhythm of it so thanks for the heads up. ๐
Ohh well done!!! Great to have a fellow rower on here! ๐ฅฐ๐๐ฃ๐ผโโ๏ธ๐ฃ๐ผโโ๏ธ๐ฃ๐ผโโ๏ธ๐๐ฝโโ๏ธ๐๐พ๐๐ปโโ๏ธ
On return from my 5.5k run this morning I've tested positive too! My husband has flu like symptoms that started on Wednesday, but I've continued to test negative till today, but still feel fine. Hope the road to recovery isn't too bumpy for you.
Get well soon.๐๐ I work in a school and donโt quite know how I have avoided it - we have had so many cases this school year. Feels like itโs a case of not โifโ but โwhenโ. As you say, so grateful to be triple jabbed.๐๐
Thatโs a shame, I hope you donโt feel too awful and that you test negative very soon. I do like how youโve managed to put a positive spin on it though! I barely seem to have time to catch up with this fabbo forum at the mo, so have fun catching up ๐.
I went to the office for just the third time this year on Thursday and someone in our area tested positive on Friday. I just hope getting it before Christmas and triple jabbed will keep me safe. I didn't do park run, but mainly because the weather was appalling at 8pm!
Weather was great here. Had the bedroom window wide open, hot water bottles keeping me warm. Actually quite nice, that โฆ. Except for the cough, and weakness. ๐คฃ๐คฃ But getting there! No headache today after 2-3 days headache continuously. And that felt like such a relief ๐ฎโ๐จ.
