Autumn or some call it the Fall πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦ is a beautiful time to run

Don't let those gremlins keep you locked in the house, get out there, it's beautiful too beautiful not to experience πŸ‘.

Tried again 🧐... still trying to slow it all down and keep to that nice zone 3 running pace, somehow today almost as soon as I started Mr Garmin told me I was in zone 4.......... Really befuddling. Slow down moreso still to no effect. So I just let the legs do their thing. Pleasingly though, hills not the biggest not the baddest but still hills, I used to firstly avoid them, I progressed to walking up them after trying to attack then at full pelt, now I simply ( well it feels like it πŸ™ƒ) I glide up them. Relaxing the breathing shorter stride pattern and before I realize the hill is behind me πŸ‘πŸ₯³. The joy of running naked listen to that breathing, hearing my feet on the different surfaces, even when the lanes today were errrr kinda sloppyin places πŸ„+πŸ’© eeeeeeeyak.....

With only a whisper of a breeze if that the canals reflections and the colours just wrapped up a nice wake up Tuesday run, even if it was a tad too quick, note to self 🐌 slow down grrrrrr

Happy running Tuesday running buddies keep safe, keep healthy, and get those masks on where required βœ…

Let's beat covid together πŸ‘Š

What lovely photos. Glad you are enjoying beautiful autumn colours up in Wales.

I need to look into this zone running thing as I don’t quite understand it. There’s a few members on the forum who mention it so I think I’m going to have to do some Googling to find out a bit more.

Happy running 😊

Thanks DD the colours are so vibrant at the moment πŸ“Έ, and I'm a sucker for a nice piccie especially reflections πŸ‘.... I read a post about the different zones of running on here and did a bit of googling, have to say it's definitely not straight forward trying to slow it down, but I'll continue as it makes for such a nice run. I did have to tweak my heart settings on the garmin as they were set as per standard parameters.

I was wondering about the Garmin settings as I seem to be running every time in the red zone!! I know that can’t be right as I can run and talk happily. I’ll have to Google that too! A bit of browsing whilst I have my lunch I think. Will it scupper my stats on Garmin if I change things?

β€’ in reply to

Nooooooooo you garmin will be just fine and dandy, I went in through garmin connect on the phone/ user settings/ configure heart rate zones I think it was nowster on HU who said he'd done a similar thing as the 220 minus age was just not right for him.....

I've gone in to my User Settings and can't see configure heart rate zones!

β€’ in reply to59er

Eeeeeek ok well given I'm 110% a technophobe I'll try remember what I did , because it was actually straight forward when I sussed it out btw 59er, I use a garmin forerunner 235.....

So on my garmin connect main screen 3little lines top left tap to open menus.....

Scroll down to garmin devices and tap to select your watch

Then tap your phone where your phone is shown at the top of the screen, hopefully if I'm right it'll open up user settings scroll down and you'll see configure heart rate zones βœ… 🀞 hope this helps

Well done on your Tuesday run. I found this morning that the tracks were quite sloppy too πŸ‘πŸ¦’πŸ„. Have also found that slowing my pace down definitely makes for a more enjoyable run for me. I think I need to fiddle a bit with my Garmin - I'm sure I'm not using it to it's full capacity 😜

β€’ in reply to59er

It's definitely messy lane season 59er πŸ’©πŸ₯³ I agree that slowing it all down is definitely ( or at least I think) improving my running? Perhaps tweek your garmin settings I think Delly-dot is doing similar?

Gorgeous photo's and looks like another beautiful run. I was out yesterday evening and ran 8K in the dark. I love running in this weather. It's cooler, so I don't overheat, as much. I also love running across fallen leaves. It's like running across a soft mattress sometimes.

I think damienair there's an emerald green poet inside you trying to escape πŸ‘, I adore autumn, the summer heat kills me, oh and the deadly U V's eat my delicate skin πŸ˜₯....

I'm all equipped to try the dark running, the only stumbling block....... Permanent night shift grrrrrrr

Yes summer heat kills me too, well all one weekend of it where I come from in the land of Emerald Green. :-) But this time of year is very comfortable. Yesterday evening was my first run in the dark. I'm lucky I have street lights and safe paths all around my route.

I love running in the dark, it's almost like being suspended in time - no distractions, no landmarks, just running. Quite magical 😊

I'm charging my headlight up in anticipation of a weekend dark run πŸ€žπŸŒ™

Love this my main man. Beautiful pictures and a run because you can and are so able too. I've struggled a bit to stay in low HR so like you I'm just doing a couple of runs each week with a pace I feel is low enough without being too mechanically slow. Onwards and upwards buddy.

I do love your photos Imc, beautiful autumnal runπŸ‚πŸ

Don't mention zone 3 training to me, I'm around 6 weeks in and it's driving me bonkers...last weekend I was the same as you, heart was zooming up and I swear I spent more time walking than running, it was really frustrating!

I had drank a large coffee before setting out and later read that caffeine increases your heart rate so I'll have to save my coffees for after a run...May be something for you to consider?! πŸ€”

Then yesterday I managed to run in zone 3 (and unusually 2) for pretty much the whole run and only had to walk twice for a short time towards the end, no idea why the sudden improvement. Go figure πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

β€’ in reply toRun46

Omg Run46 πŸ˜³πŸ©ΈπŸ“‰πŸ“Š this is getting a little to say the least befuddling, I listened, took onboard what nowster said about rejigging heart rate zones on my garmin, I'm not a massive coffee drinker, I prefer my drinks from perforated bags 🍡..... I'm thinking it's the weetabix πŸ˜†

Glad you liked pics, hoping as I'm off for a rare weekend to try a later ( when wales is dark) run purely for the experience and variety πŸ‘

I keep deciding I've had enough and worrying I'm losing fitness but then I Google and everything I read says, stick with it, it takes 2-3 months to see decent improvement but then it's fab...lol, I've done it for this long, may as well carry on now πŸ˜†πŸŒ

I'll be googling to find out if Weetabix increases your heart rate now 🀣
