I am back and I hope that this time I will be able to keep at it. I installed my Runn after work, which fakes my 'dumb' treadmill into a 'smart' treadmill and connects with my Garmin watch. Picture is my Runn with one of the reflective stickers on the running surface. Don't pay attention to the tape, I read the Runn can click out of its cradle easy and I hope that with this tape that will not happen.
So I installed it and calibrated it, connected it with my watch and I was ready to run. Earbuds in, Spotify on (wifi was not working, so took a bite out of my 4G) and the Start 2 Run app ready to start lesson 1. As wifi was not working, I also had no video to watch and I did miss it.
Off I went with 2 minutes running and 2 minutes walking for 20 minutes. Walking at 4 km/h and running at 6 km/h, cranking it up slowly with 0.1 km/h every interval.
Finished at 20 minutes at 1,68 km. I know it is not much, but I can't run faster on a treadmill. But I ran and that is what counts. Now fingers crossed that I will keep at it!
I looked up a load of YouTube videos on how and what with this Runn. So I was as prepared as I could. And still had problems π. But I solved them. I think...
I do get hot on the treadmill, though now at this very early stage of 'starting' to run again, it is still more or less ok. But soon I will switch to shorts, maybe open the window and / or put a fan before me.
Oh well done! A run is a run, and so much better than no run, which Iβm still at. But I will be following in your footsteps, soon as I am gearing up to get off the IC!! ππππ½πͺππ½ββοΈ
Well I was a bit annoyed that I was never sure about the distance I ran on the treadmill. And a footpod did not help me either, as you have to calibrate a footpod outside and I run outside a LOT different than I do on a treadmill. Hence comes in this little piece of tech. You also have to calibrate it, so it is still possible it is not 100% correct. But it comes closer than anything else I think / read. So now I am more sure about the distance I run on the treadmill, which weirdly gives me a bit more incentive.
As for the wifi, yeah I am soooo annoyed by that. We are renting an extra booster just to get wifi in that room and it doesn't seem to work. But the wifi is acting weird in general yesterday and today. Even standing right next to the modem I sometimes get no signal. Do hope the fixed line will keep working, as I work from home on some days...
I stuck the stickers on my running surface with a little bit of glue (saw that tip on a YouTube video). I only now used it one time and so far the stickers are still on it. I hope they will stay on it and that I won't tread on them too much.
What kind of treadmill do you have and do you have a Runn too then if you say you needed to calibrate?
Good, glad the stickers stayed on πNo I don't have a runn , I only received the treadmill yesterday and to be honest wasen't aware of the runn until I read your post , then I did some research π
My calibration was simply to calibrate the Garmin and treadmil distance !
