First 10k!!!

Yesterday I ran with my friend who got me into running. We did a dusky run in the park and she chatted the whole way round, me not so much! Was thrilled to run 10.5k in 1 hour and 13 minutes, my longest run before that was 8k. It felt really good until about 7k when my hamstring started to feel a little sore, so we slowed up and it felt fine so we carried on!

I’m so proud of myself. I couldn’t run for a bus at the beginning of the year, but thanks to Couch25k and the support of friends and this group I’m now a runner!

Whoop whoop! Well done and congratulations to you 🥳👍💪

It’s a great achievement and you should feel proud.

Stretch out your hamstrings and use a foam roller if you have one.

A second vote from me for the instrument of torture, otherwise known as a foam roller.

Two years ago I'd have needed at least 15 minutes to recover from a sprint for a bus.

I got a vibrating massage ball for Christmas and it’s working a few wonders too 🙂

The foam roller and I are old friends! Couldn’t be without one, even though it feels horrible!!!

Congratulations on completing your first 10K, well done, to get your graduation badge and the word GRADUATE10 next to your username follow the link of Instructor57.

Today I ran my last run of 2021, unlike last year when I ran a 8K 40 times around a football pitch, today's run was a short 3K run in the rain in my new waterproof jacket which I got as a Christmas present, although waterproof you still sweat a lot in them, enjoy your runs in 2022. 😊 🏃🏾
