Please can I have a 10k badge? 😁😁I managed 9.6k last week on my 6miler, but held off continuing to 10k especially so I could do it this weekend. It's my birthday weekend & I wanted to start it with my first ever 10k! (Ssh, don't tell younger me, she'd be appalled 😆)
Morning Runnf ….hope you’re having a lovely birthday weekend?? Have you done your 10k yet…your badge is here being polished up extra shiny by the elves 😉
I restarted C25K on a treadmill during lockdown and then got very dismayed recently when I could hardly run outside… so I sold it and am now running outside 3 times a week. I went from worrying what people might think of me plodding along in my black Lycra, to not giving a hoot in my weird and wonderful winter luminous colour combinations. I just managed to run 60 minutes non stop - A bit slow - nearly 8km, but I’m v happy. I’m due to have my 10th cardiac pacemaker next year and have signed up for a half marathon in March 🤞🙏🏻. I’m not sure I’ll be ready for it……. I’ve loved reading peoples posts on this site - so inspiring and encouraging and it’s really helped keep me going. Thanks everyone.
Oh wow Semmy …you can have an extra shiny badge with tinsel on for this achievement…what a true inspiration you are!!! Congratulations, that’s an amazing distance 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Haha thanks… I went out this morning and could hardly run a step! What is it with running? One day I think I’ve cracked it and then it’s like I’ve never run before 😒😫
HiI have run my first 10k and it felt amazing, never thought I would achieve it.Running the bath was the most I had ever done, so happy I decided to do C25K then bridge to 10k.
Woo hoooooo!!! Well done doggytail …we’ve been waiting for this & here you are sporting a new shiny badge!! Sorry it’s taken so long for me to pin it on but the elves wanted to give it an extra polish!! Congratulations 🥳
Could I please have an upgrade to my graduate 60 badge and have a Christmas Sparkly 10k badge please. I ran my first ever 10k on Thursday - 1 hour 15 mins (and 7 seconds..) which I was really chuffed with. And although I was as red a Holly berry coming in (and for some time after to be fair!!), I treated myself to a festive mince pie before going for the well-needed shower. After all... I'd lost more calories running that replenishing.
There you go NetballKitty …all your very hard work has paid off & your very well deserved badge is securely in place!! That mince pie was very well deserved indeed, I hope you enjoyed every mouthful…don’t worry about being red as a berry, I could poss be spotted from space when. I finish a 10k!!! Just proves what hard work we’ve been doing 😝 Enjoy what’s left of your weekend showing off your new badge 😊😊😊
Hello there Mummycav!I actually completed the 10k back in July but have just found my way to this forum, can i have a badge please? 😁
The plan was to work my way up to half marathon so i could run with a good old friend of mine, but as i am still routinely finding getting to the 10k mark difficult due to a dodgy and chronic left knee problem, i don't see that happening. The annoying thing is, said friend is older than me and still manages his runs like a (grey haired, tone deaf) gazelle. You can go off people....
🤣🤣 bless you!! Don’t be pushing that knee too much otherwise you’ll be watching your gazelle friend from the sidelines!!! 10k is a very admirable distance & im so glad you found our lovely forum…you’ll never want to leave 😉 …there’s oodles of inspiration on here, each and everyone of our lovely family are an inspiration in their own way…goodness knows they keep me going when I’m flagging!!! It’d be nice to hear all about your running with the occasional post…in the meantime, enjoy showing off your new shiny Christmas decoration badge..well done ✔️👏🏻💪🏻
Thanks Mummycav. I feel a slight fraud as I haven’t run a yard for a fortnight as I had a knee flare up then a rotten cold caught from our youngest. Deffo not the other thing, mind. I tested ok for that which was a relief. Have a lovely Christmas everyone!
That’s amazing WhizzyTwix …it’s hard to believe that those first few runs starting C25k can end up here at 10.5k?!!! Excellent work…congratulations 👏🏻👏🏻
Hi Mummycav, was going to try and reach 10k today in the strangely balmy London wind but due to tech failure, had to stop and start, finishing at an unexpected 11.7k!! I started C25k on 3rd Jan 2021, so quite delighted to have got here, despite some injury hiccoughs along the way…
Please can I claim my 10k badge?
Thank you to everyone on this forum for the wise, funny, interesting stories, which keep us newbies motivated 😁
