RUNNING!!!
The Willow half of us is happy with what he’s doing. Go out every so often run for 20 minutes and if he gets just over 2k in that time he smiles.
The Sola half of us is very different, she’s never satisfied and always wants to go further, run a bit faster and feel like she’s progressing. She quickly gets bored running round the park and although loves the river what she likes best is just stepping out the door and going. She’s always tired and wishes she had more energy.
So, 5 days off work and catching up on sleep makes a huge difference.
Day 2 😀
We ran yesterday so Willow is happy to stay home and add to a song he wrote the day before yesterday.
I went out the door walked to the bottom of the road, pressed go on the Garmin and off I go. Nice and slow, I ran yesterday so just a gentle 20 minutes today. I’m puffing a bit so say a sentence out loud which I can but sing is an impossibility.
Toxic 10? hmm maybe just a bit fast, slow down a bit, not much traffic, not many people, the air is less cold than yesterday so pull the buff down to not cover mouth and nose.
Reach the industrial estate, it’s so tempting to keep going and run along the seafront Hidden ran there the other day, but with my sensible head on I turn left then right then turn at 10 minutes.
And 10 minutes home, a bit slower on the homeward half of the run but hey I wonder if there may be tea when I get there?
A young woman is walking towards me and i think we’ll pass just where there is a heap of bricks on the path. Quick glance round, no cars coming, jump into the road at the exact time she does the same! pass each other, “snap!” we both shout out, with big grins, upwards and over the railway bridge, that always makes me smile because there was a time I had to walk that bit.
Down the other side, nice steady breathing so I must have slowed down turn left and….. 2k done stop the watch and walk home,
Now that’s what I call running, and yes a cup of tea was there ready for me when I got in, isn’t he lovely?
Tomorrow the Willow half of us will come to the river with me.
Have a great Sunday whatever you do, I’m off for a soak in a hot bath
