A simple 5K

Hiya,

Back into action after a week off from running. It felt good to put on my running shoes, but I had a splitting headache which did not exactly help to reach good results.

Running this week in different scenery. I felt the road (mix of mostly concrete with a bit of trail - see the collage pic) regularly rising and combined with a low body battery (did not sleep too well) and the headache, made it a bit of a hard run. Not undoable, but not 100% pleasant either.

Pushed myself to reach 5K, which I reached in 44:21. Tomorrow is normally a rest day and if the weather permits, I want to run 7K on Tuesday.

Cheers, Evy

A good simple 5K for you today Evy, well done, good luck for your 7K on Tuesday, however, the weather forecast for Tuesday is ☔ rain and gales due to Storm Barra.

Yeah, I will just see what the weather plans to do. For today they had also promised rain here, but it was dry. So it will be a last minute decision!

Well done Evy, a nice 5k, sorry about your headache. Good luck for your Tuesday run 😊.

in reply toFrenc

Yeah a combination of too little sleep and not enough fresh air. Normally I sleep with my window open, but can't do that here. So that combi is giving me a headache...

You did well to run with a headache, that's not nice at all, well done, hopefully the 7k will be a pleasanter run on Tuesday.

in reply toorangeguy

The headache is still here. Fingers crossed it is gone tomorrow (and that it is dry) ☺

Well done on making it to 5k, it's not easy when you're not feeling great. Good luck tomorrow! Hope you're feeling better 🤗

Thanks. The headache is still here. Fear it might be migraine and ofcourse I did not bring my migraine meds along 😶

Oh no, hope it doesn't get any worse. Years ago I had to be on migraine meds for a few months, not pleasant

in reply toBeatlesforever

The meds are ok as long as I only take them when I have a migraine (otherwise it feels scary) and only a quarter of the normal dose.

Normally I only get hormonal migraine 1 weekend per month. But the last month it popped up twice outside of the 'fun' period too.
