I’ve not been posting recently because a grumbly hip has prevented me from running . It’s my own fault because I probably overdid things when given permission to start trotting again following the first time it grumbled at me. So basically no running for most of this year! So that nice Mr Physio has sent me back to the gluteal tendinopathy couch again for a little while longer with an exercise regime and this time I’m going to be more sensible! But I am allowed to walk and today I had a lovely Parkrun walk along our prom with Coddfish as she recovers from her hip replacement operation. At 57:11 we still managed to better the time we did it in last weekend - walk or run, those PBs still entice that little extra effort don’t they! Happy running and walking folks!
Well, phooey!: I’ve not been posting recently... - Bridge to 10K
Well, phooey!
At least you now have a firm diagnosis, and a way ahead. Make all the adjustments recommended by the physio, and we will nag you when you are striding out too fast! Keep up the exercises .
Mr Physio is very kind to you Oldgirlruns, he really looks after you very well, I hope you will enjoy being back to the gluteal tendinopathy couch and doing the exercises he recommends, also walking or volunteering at Southsea Parkrun,Congratulations on walking at parkrun today, among other things you could volunteer as being the tailwalker.
Thanks Al, yes Mr Physio has done well out of me this year! I’ve done a fair number of volunteer slots but have enjoyed my Parkrun walks with Coddfish. Our Tailwalker slots are usually booked up a long time in advance but I might be lucky to break in there one day! Enjoy your weekend!
Oh these blasted injuries! Glad you're keeping on top of things with walking. I do think it's sensible to follow the advice. I've learnt this lesson too! Happy walking and take care.
Well what a relief that you’ve been given the green light to walk at least OGR. Kind physio! 👏👏👏
Good to hear you are getting out and about.
What more do you need OGR - a very pleasant walking parkrun with good company!
Hey there OGR, enjoy your walking and heal well. 😘 Is cycling an option as well for variety? Xxx
Hey walking a great for both of you, and a PB nice one 😀
I commiserate with you. Still waiting for my cortisone injection into my left hip. Although I am still running (very slowly) and only for about 2-3 k and only once per week or so. Happy walking.
Plus you have a guaranteed walking partner for quite a while as I am not going to try to run until at least 6 months post-surgery, and only then if it feels right (please hold me to this if you see me get tempted in Jan / Feb, as I might).
A PB is a PB!Enjoy your walks…🐌🍂🌞🌊
Sharing your frustration OGR I’m on the same couch for the same injury. Self diagnosed but I was a physical therapist in my past life! Doing my exercises, but it’s a slow process. Wish you well
