Well I’ve not run for about 2 weeks finally got a drs ( well nurse practitioner) to see me re my niggly hip. And she referred me to orthopaedic surgeon !!!! I did ask about running and she just said to do what I could if I wanted to 🙃🙃🙃. So I’ve rested from running and today ( ratherfoolishly as it’s the hottest day this year) I decided to go for a little jog. Well I now know why I run first thing in the morning it’s so much cooler and less busy. Also decided to run a new route in town which I won’t be doing again unless I absolutely have to cos it was sooooo noisy and busy traffic wise. Still managed 20 minutes of slow running and I’ll see how my hip is tonight. Happy running everyone ☀️🏃‍♀️☀️🏃‍♀️☀️🏃‍♀️☀️

Yes I like a little 20 minute run at the moment but hip is starting to jiggle now so I might have to be even more sensible?☹️☹️☹️

My hip problems are caused by a muscle imbalance, which a physio is helping me with. Do hope your pain has a simple remedy.

Well after 50 x 5 Ks and 5 x 10ks my back discs decided to tell my legs to collapse. One physio says its piraforma syndrome and one says its the back. Anyone else want to have a guess? I did 2 runs since the first one and regressed. Its ok walking and I did coniston old man last week but it seems like impact is the problem. Perhaps aqua aerobics will be the future LOL

That's interesting. On my 52nd run following graduation I developed severe pain in my left hip, enough to make me limp. I thought it would get better with time so I kept on with my walking but stopped running for 3 weeks. Then I went for a run and the pain began within a minute so I thought, time for a consultation. GP thought trochanter pain, so I stopped walking to have complete rest. After 4 weeks I feel terribly unfit!

I really miss running so I did a try out two days ago. I did C25k week 1 and it went all right. Two hours later I had a hip niggle but not pain. So I will have two days rest between runs and carry on again with week 1 and move on carefully through the programme. Here's hoping I can get back to where I was :)

Good luck. I did 2 runs after my collapse and was ok but now I just cant stay up. I tripped over my grandson, i am convinced he legged me over, and the left leg went again. Been referred to hospital clinic now so might be seen in a few months. Hopefully new exercises might sort me earlier. Tis a bug.er. At 68 I was enjoying the challenge.
