I'm new here and would be interested in advice on how to progress!

I completed Couchto5k in June and have been running 5k, twice a week since, using the NHS Audiofuel podcasts. I use Stamina for the 5k's (one is a park run, PB 34.32), I also do Speed once a week, so a maximum of 3 runs a week. I really like the structure of the podcasts as my pace is a bit all over the place without Laura's help!

I would like to progress to 10k but haven't found anything similar to the podcasts and so was thinking of doing Juju's magic plan, but is it too soon?

I haven't run since school days and I'm over 50 (but have a dog so have always walked a lot).

Thank you.

Congratulations on your graduation and well done consolidating. Definitely not to early to start the magic plan, it’s fantastic and very easy to follow. You can continue with your speed work on the short run each week. As the long run increases maybe consider slowing down for it until you are comfortable with the new distances. Happy running 🤗

Go for it, if you look at the plan it's very steady with lots of shorter runs to so that you don't over-extend yourself. 👍🏻😁

Well done. A group of us here are slowly increasing distance by adding 500 meters per week onto a long run, and other 2 runs are 5K per week. Have a look, I've called it the Crossing the Bridge Gang. Same goal of getting to 10K by adding a little distance each week. It is a very relaxed easy plan. But we will get there.

You've been doing 30 minute runs for almost 3 months. You're ready to progress.

More than ready. Slow down on the longer runs, especially as you near the 10K runs. You could start with the Bridge to 60 minutes option but looking at your PB you might want to do Bridge to 10k.

It's not too early and the great thing with Juju's plan is that you can choose to build up to an hour first, then proceed on to 10k just by switching from the time to distance versions of it (which is how I did it 2½ years ago. Good luck. You'll get plenty of encouragement here.

Thank you everyone for your help! Will be doing the park run tomorrow as one of my 5k runs, but will aim for a 5.5km run in the week as well as the shorter run.
