I've worn the new trainers 3 times now on shorter 5K runs.. first time toes were sore.. next twice they seemed better but different ..like a higher instep...
today's run I thought ide try a 7K in them..
Oooft my calfs ached from the outset.. they don't feel tight.. I got to the uphill part on K 4 had to stop for traffic and paused my Garmin and walked to the top of the hill before resuming.. then stopped at 5K π
In all my time Running I've never once had to walk on a run.. but I didn't want to cause myself an injury..
I'm not sure I want to keep trying them..
Will they mould to my feet.. should I keep trying them once a week?
Feeling really disappointed with my run today π

Sorry to say this sparky66 but those trainers sound totally wrong for you, I don't think they should need breaking in like that. It really sounds like you need specialist advice from a proper running shop.
I'm in rural France, so consider myself lucky that there's an excellent independent running shop not too far away - that means over 45km, it's all relative! π
I'm beginning to think the same Comi, luckily my daughter is the same shoe size she can have them as a fashion item.. and I will get myself to a specialist Running shop!I'm heading onwards to HM training so I need the right shoes..my old ones will last out till I get some more π
Hmm....sounds like a gait analysis is needed !I certainly didn't have to break in my shoes,
I got my gait analysis and new road shoes around week 5 of C25k and they felt like slippers from day one , same with my trail shoes , first time I ran in them was a comfortable 10k
I'm sure you will be amazed when you get the right ones ! π€
That's not good Caroline, i've had the same pair since start of c25k, seem to be ok, got them online, i bet having to stop must have been very frustrating, hope your new/old ones will be ok!π
I think they should feel good straight away - yes the toes may need to settle in and you may have to adjust the laces but basically they should feel comfortable. Maybe these ones just don't match your gait π
