This morning I ran my 18th 10K in a time of 1:09:31 which is only the second time that I have ran 10K sub 70 minutes, I enjoyed my run today, the weather was cloudy but mild, 14C, a little windy but not too bothersome, if I had been cycling it might have been very tiring, all in all a nice run for meππΎ
Almorr's 18th 10K : This morning I ran my 18th... - Bridge to 10K
Almorr's 18th 10K
Well done Al .That's a good time for your 10k π
Congratulations Al! That's a great time, well done. A good run for you today ππππͺ
Well done, what a great time! ππππ
Well done on your 18th 10k Al, it sounds really good and fab time too
Indeed WillowandSola, today I was looking back on my running diary, those diaries go back to when I ran my first 10K on 28th August 2019, my PB 10K time is 1:09:23, eight seconds quicker than today, which was my 3rd 10K ran on 25th September 2019.
A great run!
A little cooler than here, though. It was a bit gusty here at lunchtime too, which made my run today a little easier.
Thanks nowster, you also had a good run as well, I don't like running if it's too hot, heavy rain, heavy snow, gale force winds thick fog or thunderstorms, I am what they call "a fair weather runner", if it did start raining β while I was running I would continue to the end of the run.
Nice one Al! I don't like it too hot, too cold, or too wet either. It has to be just right. It's like Goldilocks and her porridge.
Indeed grumpyoldgirl, I like running when the weather is fine, not too cold or hot, the coldest temperature I have ran was - 6C /23F at Drumpellier Parkrun on St Andrews Day, 30th November 2019, despite the cold I ran that run sub 31 minutes - 30.56, the warmest run was also at Drumpellier Parkrun 3 months earlier +19C/66F one second quicker - 30.55, a PB at that time.
Well done AlMorr great 10 km and time. Mr D keeps all his times as well . Have u ever run a 5 km abroad. We do a 6km in Madeira at Xmas time around the city. Itβs brillπ
Fab run AlMorr , congratulations on notching up so many 10ks!
Thanks Cmoi, I was looking at my running diary, I am not a runner who runs much more than 30 Kilometers a month but in June of last year and May of this year I ran 60K and 65 Kilometers respectively, those distances were of several 10Ks, several 5Ks, even a few 10 miles runs made up those distances despite the fact that since graduating from C25K I only run twice a week, on a Wednesday and Saturday.
Very well done on your 18th 10k AlMorr .And a good time for you this morning.
Most importantly you enjoyed it.
It sounds like perfect running weather apart from the wind
Thank you Birdlady64, I enjoyed my run this morning despite the wind, pleased that my time was sub 70 minutes, not too many of these, I hope you are also enjoying your running ππΎ.
Nnnice! Wowsa, what a time!
The only slight disappointment was that it wasn't a PB, only 8 seconds from my PB 10K of about 2 years ago which was 1:09:23 compared to this morning's 1:09:31, so what, I am not too bothered about thatππΎπ
Well done! Thatβs a brilliant time. π
Congratulations! A great time too π
Well done Al, great run for you π
Well done AlMorr , that's a pretty solid time and sounds like the conditions were on your side too.
That's fantastic, well done. I wish many more for you, and faster if yo'd prefer :). I remember your words of advice when I graduated(which of course I let it slip away); I intend to go again. The posts on here help; the sodding plantar fasciitis in both my heels don't. Great work, keep going Al.
That sounds like s perfect run. Congratulations on the sub 70 minutes!
Nice going, hope to see the 19th 10k soon!
Regarding my 19th 10K, perhaps sometime in October, first I will run another 10 miles run at the beginning of October, see how that goes, but usually at the end of 10 miles my legs feel like they have had enough, so any longer would possibly cause an injury.
Well done Almorr - you're getting stronger the more you run it seems.Best wishes βΊοΈ
Congratulations! Itβs always a bonus to enjoy running rather than just a matter of routine.
Good going AlMorr! I also prefer running to riding in the wind. Down here on God's snooker table the wind can be relentless, one of the reasons I decided to try running was our consistently windy spring this year. π¬οΈπ
I assume you live in East Anglia, Norfolk or somewhere where it's very flat and the wind also blows strongly most of the time, where I live in Central Scotland the only strong winds tend to come from the west/south-west or a little north of west, with the Scottish Highlands to the north we very rarely get a strong north wind, sometimes during the winter months there are clear cloudless skies when the north and east of Scotland are having frequent blizzards and snow showers, however, being on the west side rain is never all that far away.
Fantastic Al, another sub 70 10K! Thatβs a comfortable temperature to run in even if a bit windy. Well done on getting that many 10Ks ππͺ
I don't mind running 10K's, it seems quite short compared to 10 miles/16K, I have ran 5/10 mile runs since graduating from C25K, every time I run a 10-mile run I feel I can't go further, it's not as if I am exhausted and out of breath, it's the legs just giving in, enough is enough, anyway I'll run a slower 10 miles run next month and see if I can go further, perhaps HM but the legs will have to feel better than my recent 10 mile runs, I certainly don't want to end up of the IC
Amazing AlMorr, that sounds like a brilliant run and a fantastic time. Where abouts did you run this one? Was it around a beautiful lake or Loch? ποΈ
Well done Al you should be very pleased with that time.
Congratulations on your 18th 10k run! That was a most impressive time too.
Thanks Fiona, yes No. 18, 10K for me, I do run the occasional 16K /10 miles in old money, after that a 10K seems quite a short distance.
Well its bound to - especially when you do it in that time!!!
I am looking forward to watching the Manchester 10K this weekend, it's on BBC 1 at 11am. Sunday.
PS Fionamags, just today I had official confirmation that my local Santa Dash this December will NOT be run.
That's a shame. I don't think any running events are on in Scotland, are they? Nightclubs going full tilt though... π
I don't think that the Glasgow Santa Dash, which usually has 20,000 runners is on either this year, my local one had around 250 runners in 2019 when I was a spectator, the day before that run I ran at parkrun in a time of 30.56, 3 days later after the Santa Dash I ran on the same course in a time of 31.33, only 2 weeks ago I ran that course again a (not) parkrun PB in a time of 31.31.
The nightclubs are back but from the 1st October everyone has to take a test for Covid 19 before they can get in
Great time, Al.
