I restarted the timed Magic Plan last week while visiting my family and ran the first run with my dog and sister. Unfortunately (?) my progress was impeded by too much good food and wine, ๐ฑ๐ท so I have inevitably had a few extra days between runs......
Well, I remedied that this morning with a 17 minute bonus run to get myself back into the swing of things before tackling the 30 minute w1r2 which will see me back on the plan. ๐ณ I'm a little worried that my momentum was interrupted so soon, but hey-ho, the only way has to be up from here.
I took my dog Isla with me again for our second run together, and I am pleased to report we were both much better at it this time round - I didn't hurdle her once today, so that's a definite improvement ๐. Trying to photograph the dog while running however is going to take some practice.....๐ท๐๐ฅบ! I managed to get her roughly in frame in the attached photos!
What a cutie your Isla is ๐ฅฐ๐ฅฐ๐ฅฐ well done on getting back on that wagon. Don't be too hard on yourself, it's been such a long time since we've been able to enjoy the company of family and friends I think a bit of a celebration is in order๐ท๐พ ๐ but you've made up for it with that extra long run today ๐ช๐๐๐I bet Isla is going to have loads of fun as your running companion yay ๐๐ถ๐โโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ
Thank you Beatles! You make me feel that I can let myself off the hook of feeling guilty โบ๏ธ. I enjoyed my run today. I found I was concentrating so much on Isla that I ran on automatic pilot!
He is two months old today! Just lovely thank you. Enjoying my new Nannie Jan status very much. (Still popping out for the odd 30 min run when I can!๐โโ๏ธ)Thank you for asking and good luck with that next run!๐คxxx
Thank you Frenc. Isla and I are working on getting the hang of it together. There were fewer stumbles and hurdles today ๐๐๐ผ. She had a huge sleep when we got home as we walked for a good stretch either side of our run ๐ค ๐ถ ๐ฅฐ. Definitely a pooped pooch!
How lovely to celebrate with family and friends. Iโm sure you had a wonderful time. I can imagine being in a large group could be quite daunting just now. Iโm part of a vaccination team working in a big hall, so have got used to larger numbers again. However I still havenโt been out shopping beyond our little local supermarket and the garden centre. All in good time and everyone each to their own. Weโll get there ๐ค xx
It wasnโt daunting so much but draining I have forgotten how to laugh, talk , and listen to lots of people. Well done you for running vaccination centre. Really admire you for that.
How nice to be able to get out and about a bit more and a grandson too. How could you not celebrate ๐.Lovely dog Delly-dot. I would love to run with Pitta when she's old enough but she stops at every interesting smell when we walk so I'm not sure it will work.
Hi Lifluf. Unfortunately I canโt claim the lovely new grandson, that honour belongs to Bluebirdrunner ๐ฅฐ.
Running with Isla is interestingโฆโฆ Like Pitta (wonderful name), she is also very interested in smells, so we have to make time for plenty sniffing (and the โtoiletingโ) before we start to run. That said, she does occasionally veer off sideways to follow her nose, but sheโs not too bad. Iโm only doing short runs with her just now, so donโt know how sheโd be over a longer distance. Iโll build that up gradually if it looks like sheโs still enjoying it. She slept all morning yesterday once we got home!
I've got a few months to wait before she's old enough but short runs sounds like the way to start.I see runners pass my house sometimes with dogs and they make it look so easy. Good luck with Isla - she certainly looked like she was enjoying herself in the picture.
