Yeah I'm so chuffed to have ran my second 10Mile this morning π
Just plodded along at roughly 8min per K keeping it slow.. first 3K in and I started settling in.. felt my pace was nice and comfortable, started drizzle rain around 6K and by 12K it was pouring!! π§οΈ
This just made me smile..bring it on I thought, feeling strong here I even had aspirations of making it to a HM π€£π€£π€£
By 14K I was looking forward to the road home and those last two and a half K were tough π
I think there's a bit more training to be done before then πββοΈπββοΈπββοΈ
But really happy to have achieved 10Miles again...πππͺπββοΈ
Home , stretches done, and a lovely hot bath..and feeling like a champ π₯
Happy Running all ππββοΈππ₯³

Got my first 10K race in a couple of weeks, so think my longer runs will stay between 10-14 don't want any injuries or burn out before then πBut yes maybe by end of next month, all being well πββοΈπͺπ
That's brilliant, and one more than me, i've only done one 10 miles, really slowed up with the running at the moment, did a 6.5km last night, first run in two weeks, but actualy got a 5k PB 35:50 so i guess the fitness is still there! π€£
Thanks Nowster πI wasn't sure whether I'd set out intending the 10mile just knew I wanted a long run and see how I felt.. so pleased I kept going to reach it.. ...π
Ooooh well done sparky! Thatβs brilliant. And congrats for keeping going during the last 2 or so k - sometimes itβs all we can do not to flop on the ground and just lie there! Iβm hoping to do my 2nd 10 miles on Sunday - I need to find out if the first one wasnβt just a fluke or a figment of my imagination π€£. Youβre doing so well, hurrah!!! πββοΈπββοΈπββοΈ
Haha so true Frenc, I really did work that last 2K π I even managed a whole minute off my first π don't care how small but it's an improvement π
Ooh good luck with yours on Sunday, I'll be routn for you πͺππ
Congratulations to you sparky66 on completing your 2nd 10 mile run, I have only run that distance once, however, I am working on doing it again shortly by increasing my Wednesday run by 2 kilometres a week, up to 10K it was by 1K a week but I think from 10K to 16K, increasing my distance by 2K a week should be fine.
Hi Sparky66, you are the first to know that I have just completed my 54th (not.) parkrun in the best time this year of 32.31, I am quite happy about that.
Yeay how wonderful...that is brilliant ππ...can I also mention that the "steady" pace impressed me too...it's my regular easy pace on a good day π
Thanks Bubblebird πThe 8 min K pace seems to be my comfortable pace on a long run.. gets a bit slower around 12-15K then I always try a burst of speed (well push) the last K to finish π
You are welcome π...I seem to settle nicely at just above 8km but it seems to get me further with less of the niggles. I will wait and see how that changes when I'm ready for my next 12 k and hoping to hit 14/15k by end of July...nervous but excited
