It’s 30 degrees out there so large glasses of water and off we go.
Thought Id try a NRC stress free run, both had a bit of faffing with watches and headphones, we both only had one working ear bud, but one’s better than none.
I’m soon wanting to speed up a little, Willows nice and steady pace waves me off, it’s really too hot to run fast but there is a slight breeze and I ducked to the side of the track and ran under the shade of trees,
Willow completed 20 minutes running and is pleased with that and I ran 30 minutes which was my aim,
V02max stayed the same for both of us, Willows garmin says he’s unproductive mine doesn’t have that setting. Garmin can be so rude at times.
I’ve been thinking about why we don’t run faster, so on today’s run I did regular body checks, breathing deep but not panting, legs feel it but not hurting, so speed up a bit, breathing faster but still not panting, legs fine, bit faster, slow down. It is hot and experimenting not racing.
We enjoyed that, home, stretch, glass of water, cups of tea, shower and I want to shop
Have a great Wednesday all

It is warm out there isn’t it but we can’t complain after being so cold all last month! It was lovely to have a bit of a sea breeze this morning but when I turned away from the seafront there was no wind and it was sweltering! Sounds as if you had an enjoyable run - now go and enjoy your shopping! Apart from being rude, did Mr Garmin remember to give you your Global Running Day badge?!
Hi, yes it’s beautiful weather certainly not complaining, I swear I run better in the summer and next is a trip to the beach and dip at least my toes in the water, we did get the badge isn’t it great? we both got one, shopping was good, quick trip to Sainsbury’s then Boots for perfume as I’ve run out of my work one 😆Have a great day OGR
Thanks, he is isn’t he? we should have sat on the beach this morning, by the time we’d run, showered, shopped and went to beach clouds covered nearly all the sky and the sea didn’t look that inviting
Oh that’s just happened here in London which is actually a good thing as it means the run later shouldn’t be so bad. My Garmin will no doubt have other ideas 🙄
Oh I couldn't run in that heat ! It's 22 at the moment and it's ok for me pottering in the garden, running will have to wait until tonight or early tomorrow .Parker looks a scamp those eyes 😍
He really is a scamp, although we aren’t always as polite, it’s easy to call him a little something when he comes from nowhere and bites your toe hard, we love him though. It was hot but we love running in shorts and love hot weather
Well done for running in the heat! I have just finished work . It clouded over here earlier and there have been a few spots of rain so I am hoping that it won't be too hot for a post work run!
Isn’t she just? I’m not good at planning so I always check in with my body all the time and make decisions about pace and distance, if it doesn’t feel right we just come home and go another day
30 degrees? I have not yet run this week due to a stupid sun allergy, but I fear that with my timing once I can get out again it might have to be in such temperatures as well. I am NOT looking forward to it. A bow to you for running AND speeding up in this heat!
I had it last year lightly (light rash on the face) and after a few weeks / months there was no problem anymore. But I got it rather heavy last weekend, heavier rash on my face, neck and arms. With a bucket-load of cortisone-salve it's more or less over now. Keeping out of the sun as much as possible and have ordered some special sunscreen which is factor 100+ and some antihistamine pills. I hope that also now it will pass with taking little bits of sun and the meds and such so I can enjoy summer.
