Just not happening, however slow we ran we just couldn’t go faster
But 5k in 48. minutes in 25 or 28 degrees depending on who you believe garmin or phone which i might add lay in the cool at home
For the first 3.22k i ran to keep my heart rate below 140 it crept up a couple of times and i slowed down
For the second 1.6k heart rate went up to 150 and We weren’t even puffing in fact Willow was singing 🎤
For the last .40k um there wasn’t much left but little bursts of speed
48 minutes and bloody Garmin says room to grow and grow we will
1 hour to recover and shower 1hour to shop and get a picnic ready and to the sea with grandson we will go
Happy running all and please excuse the swear word just this once, my tiniest nicotine patch won’t stick in this weather so i’m nicotine free of them woo hoo
Ps don’t tell Willow or he will get twitchy waiting for me to get narky
Oh and my music stopped and in trying to start it again i stopped and re started the programme

This post had me in stitches! I had to read it twice and my big bucked teeth were falling out!!! You two are sooooooo epic! No idea what that pacing means but every idea how great and determined you two are 🎽🎽🎽🎽🎽
The idea was to start slow then speed up a bit then speed up some more at set points
the first kilometre took us 9.04 minutes which is slow but was faster than planned, then when we speeded up we found we couldn’t go much faster and in the end slowed down
Anyway we enjoyed our run, and glad we made you laugh, Willow stayed with it for the whole 5k which is brilliant because he’s been running about 3 and leaving me to it
It definitely takes a while to get used to the runs on Garmin coach. I couldn’t do all 4 of the speed repeats on mine the first time - not in the pace it wanted anyway! By the end I of the plan I did 14 - still not quite sure how.
Well done for running in the heat - I’ve just come back and it wasn’t pleasant.
Since 15th January, I’ve reduced the patches very slowly because i smoked for 50 years and nicotine withdrawal in the past left me throwing things like phones tablets and my favourite mugs, nothing if not extreme, ai have some little 7mg ones left so might just put one on every third day until they are gone but i think i’ve kicked it
An hour on the beach then we are heading inland for dinner with Willows family, he’s seen them all separately but i haven’t seen them since March
Will do! Husband is looking after me. Currently reclining on a couple of cold filled hot water bottles which is helping with the heat and the back pain. Win. Win.
Golly you are soooooo focussed you two. Well done indeed and be proud you got out, let alone achieved 5k 👍🥵🥵🏃♂️🏃♀️. Here in Kent it has been over 30° in our shady porch, more in the garden, even in the shade. I haven't 'been able' (meaning I refuse!!) to get up early to run in the 'cool???'. So I have not gone running since Sunday and have only managed 2 a week lately whilst it's been so hot. My beetroot and radish impressions are great, even when it's cool 🍅🌶( or tomato and chilli impressions as no radish and beetroot emojiis)!! I applaud your achievements and resolution, but glad you were rewarded with beach time after your run and didn't have to don your PPE for work. Phew! Take care. 🏃♂️🏃♀️🤽♂️🤽♀️🤗
I’m having such fun during this holiday time from work, it got even hotter yesterday didn’t it? we went to Epsom and it was stifling but driving both ways with the top off the car was great, It’s supposed to break later today so as it’s a rest day we will sit in the sun for a while then going to watch the promised storms
