I havenโt posted for a while, but Iโve been joffling along quietly behind the scenes when I can.....
At long last I am visiting my loved ones this week. Along with my husband and our children we are finally getting to see both our families after so long apart.
First stop is Cheshire to see my parents and my sister and her family. Next stop is Scotland to visit my husbandโs parents and our family there.
This morning I restarted the distance version of The Magic Plan, with my sister for company which was lovely, a first for us to run together. Another first was running with my dog Isla on the lead (an interesting experience Iโm not sure Iโll repeat ......๐ค). Isla loved it, but does like to follow her nose and zig-zags which meant I hurdled her a couple of times!! We ran across the local golf course then around and back towards home. Itโs a beautiful morning here in Cheshire. My sister snapped a photo on our run towards home.
My sister and I will definitely run together again later in the week, as we stop off here again on our way back home. Whether we invite Isla along too is up for discussion ๐๐.
How lovely to see your post and you jogging along. Still doing lots of physio and starting walking programme but oh how I miss running. I agree running with dog is risky as mine darts all over the place! Happy running.
I hope the physio sessions are helping and itโs good to read you have a walking plan.
Iโm going to persevere with Isla and see if I can turn her into my running buddy. Iโm going to have words with her about her wild swerves though, but on the plus side she keeps my pace up ๐๐๐โโ๏ธ
What could be better that getting to run with your sister after this last year I bet it was amazing. It's so good that we are finally able to get to properly see our families again . Hope you'll post some photos of running in Scotland ๐
So lovely to see you posting again! We also met up with some friends yesterday, such a wonderful afternoon chatting in person rather than online. Isla is gorgeous!! ๐ฅฐ๐ฅฐEnjoy your family visits ๐ค
Lovely run for you today DD. So good to hear that you are finally getting meet up with all your family even if it is in various groups. Enjoy the great weather and your family get togethers and happy running. โ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ
Thank you Scruff. Itโs so good to see the family. Itโs been a hard year.
Isla seemed to be getting the hang of it towards the end of our run so Iโm encouraged to try again. Hurdling her was unexpected though - thank goodness sheโs not any bigger!
Hi Delly-dot! Well done on starting the magic plan again, Iโm hoping to do the same once my hip gives me permission to get back to 5k without having to break into a walk! How lovely for you to be able to meet up with your family again, you must be so excited! Good luck with running with Isla in future - it sounds as though she has her own agenda for going walkies with her human!
Hi OGR. Isla has boundless energy, so dropping a run into her routine is probably a good idea. She normally runs loads off lead but Iโve curtailed that because of the awful number of dog thefts recently. She is so friendly and trusting that she would go to anyone.
Lovely to hear from you DD. I'm still hovering on the way back to 10k - was very nearly there until my back went out and its been niggling away ever since. So I'll be on the worming my way up again too. Your timing is impeccable btw - its been freezing in Scotland until now. We are set for sunshine this week. Enjoy your visit!!
Oh dear! Backs can be tricky when it comes to running. Iโve had a week off since hurting mine doing the garden. It didnโt help that I was digging over and planting up in the rain and got wet..... sore and achy bones ๐. I wonโt be doing that again.
Keep the sun shining for me. Iโm heading up tomorrow ๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ณ๓ ฃ๓ ด๓ ฟ โ๏ธ ๐
How lovely. Dog running does sound tricky though! How did you find running with company? I've only done a c25k mid plan run with someone and found talking hard work!
Nice to have a photo of yourself running too - it makes it more real!
