Mymojo took a slide this past week after my tricky last run and she went sulking off into the distance to bury her head in the sand somewhere until the time was right to reach for the trainers again.
Fortunately my little four-legged friend Isla ensured I clocked up plenty of miles on our glorious dog walks, so she has kept me on track with my miles for LEJOG5.
Well, this morning Mymojo stuck her head above the parapet, said that the sulking had gone on for long enough and she felt brave enough to try a 4k run; so the trainers went on before breakfast and I headed out towards the common and woodlands. I only met one other person, a former work colleague I haven't seen for years, who is at the start of her C25k journey. I told her "That's where I started!" and all of a sudden Mymojo had the glimmer of a smile on her face and said "That's more like it!" π
Heading out again after breakfast, this time with Isla and a friend, we walked a further 5k.
This LEJOG5 malarkey has become a team effort for me and my dog. Together she has helped me to reach 71 miles so far, earning our first postcard at 50 miles as we headed along the route and over towards Bodmin Moor. Isla always puts a smile on my face, but it was also good to smile during my run this morning too. Here's hoping that the gremlins who were lurking around me on my last run are the ones who are now sulking and have gone to bury their heads in the sand, 'cos Mymojo is back. π
That sounds like a wonderful run and walk. Dogs do keep us grounded, making us go out when we don't always want to. Glad your mojo is back! Let's hope the late summer sun stays with us too. Take care. π
Your mojo was taking a break in Scotland where she convinced me to join you on LeJog! Glad she found her way back to you and you had a lovely run together.
So that's what she's been up to! I hadn't thought that Mymojo could have snuck into my husband's car and disappeared north of the border for the week and the family celebrations π΄σ §σ ’σ ³σ £σ ΄σ Ώπ₯! Makes perfect sense - he's home and she's back π₯°.
Yay well done! Gremlins all gone and you've got your mojo back π€ΈββοΈππ
Yes! Love it. That's how we do it. Next time those thoughts come think of asking them for a meeting. They'll be a no-show. Just hot air. You keep going for you, good or not so good, a run is a run and while you can you must. Go DD π₯π₯π₯

So glad your mojo has returned, its funny how we all seem to lose it for a while. I'm looking forward to π€getting another dog in October I'm really missing my dog walks. Thankfully this week I get to walk my sons dog for 2 days as I'm doing a spot of dog sitting.
Something definitely slipped for me this week. Fionamags put it down to my husband being away in Scotland π΄σ §σ ’σ ³σ £σ ΄σ Ώπ. Anyhow, Iβm working on ditching those gremlins now .
Lovely to hear about prospective new doggy news π. Years ago, after losing our first westie very young, it was our lovely vet who told us about a litter of westie pups. We went just to look and came home with two! It was then two years after losing our two elderly westie girls 6 months apart before we got Isla. I missed my girls dreadfully. You know when the time is right. Do keep me posted and enjoy your dog sitting this week xx
Ah Westies... I took over my Mums Westie Daisy when she had to go into a care home. She had been thoroughly spoilt we had a bit of a love hate relationship to start with. Especially the day I caught her with her head in my bowl of carefully prepared curry π‘
