A rebel run and the dog came too ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ ๐Ÿ˜Š

I am on holiday with my family this week and as it has been incredibly hot I have decided to take extra rest days, so this week on The Magic Plan has taken me a little longer to complete. Having switched the second and third runs around my final run this week was for 30 minutes.

The beautiful countryside around the village where I am staying provides the perfect opportunity for me to deviate from the norm and instead be completely spontaneous with the direction of my runs - if you read my previous post about me suddenly realising that I always run anti-clockwise and always turn left, this post will make sense....

Setting off yesterday morning just before 7am, with my husband and our dog for company - they were going to walk whilst I ran - we left our two sleepy teenagers in bed and headed into the village and up the track to the earthwork remains of the old castle and out into the fields beyond.

I started my run in the middle of a fieId beyond the earthwork and I made my route up as I went. Contrary to my usual preference for turning left, I rebelled and managed to fit in plenty alternative directions of travel; I turned right, I turned left, I ran on the spot, I ran straight on, and I double-backed a few times too to return my off-lead running buddy to my husband before I headed off on my own for the other side of the village to run a loop around the village church.

It was lovely to have my dog run with me for part of the way. She has been reluctant to do it before but yesterday morning she changed her mind, and that was a lovely treat for me.

Not surprisingly this run didn't feature any PBs, it was about much more than that and I loved it ๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ.

Canโ€™t beat running with a dog D-d. Your run sounds wonderful. I think lots of us our veering off our respective running plans this week - for good reason. ๐Ÿฅต

Yes, itโ€™s been so hot. We had a terrific thunderstorm last night and itโ€™s cleared the air and made it a little cooler today, thank goodness. Tomorrowโ€™s run should feel cooler ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿผ ๐Ÿ˜Š.

Thank you Mrs Jorge. Itโ€™s a very pretty part of the country. Iโ€™m hoping my dog joining me wasnโ€™t a one-off ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿถ

It is so lovely that you incorporated a run while away which adds a freshness and excitement to the weekly schedule. Well done you! ๐Ÿ˜Š

Who needs a pb when you've got such beautiful surroundings to run in . You just want to take it all in.

Enjoy the rest of your holiday Delly-dot ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ๐ŸŒž๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ

You are amazing! Absolutely cannot run in this heat and so am taking some serious rest days. Jujuโ€™s plan will have to wait. Pilates and yoga still in play though and horrid wearing a mask. Will this ever be over I wonder?

No thunderstorms or even a breeze here in Hampshire. Relentless heat.

Enjoy your runs.

in reply to Timotea

Hello neighbour ๐Ÿ˜Š

We had a spectacular thunderstorm here last night, but there doesnโ€™t seem to be any rain for West Sussex so my garden is going to be very dry when I get back โ˜€๏ธ. Well done on the Yoga & Pilates. Iโ€™ve brought my mat but itโ€™s still in the car!! ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

What a lovely run you've had! The scenery, the company and the spontaneity ๐Ÿ˜„. Kudos for running on.holiday it's not the easiest thing to do (holiday mindset etc) Hope you're brain coped with the change of direction ๐Ÿฅด. Enjoy the rest of your break๐ŸŒž๐ŸŒž

in reply to Allbarron

My brain was okay but my dog was very confused and couldnโ€™t understand why I was running away from her and my husband, so she followed! My husband laughed and said our dog made it very clear where her loyalties lie! ๐Ÿถ ๐Ÿ’• ๐Ÿ˜Š

๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ I've run before while my husband has dog walked and it left my pooch completely torn and confused. Best time is when I meet them at the end of a run and he hurtles across the park excited to see me๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ. The dog that is...not my husband โ˜บ๏ธ

What a great run you had Delly-dot! Itโ€™s sounds as though you really had fun going very which way for a change - and your dog seemed to enjoy it too! And presumably Mr D-d as well!

in reply to Oldgirlruns

Mr D-d and the dog both very happy, but Iโ€™m hoping to tempt hubby out to run with me again this week ๐Ÿ˜€

I might not quite be as relaxed and easy with my runs as you, but I might be a fringe anarchist yet ...... ๐Ÿคฃ

Going loopy are we DellyD? ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ Sounds lovely though meandering about and breaking with routine. I think you'll need to get your hair spiked up and dyed a wild colour!!! Great stuff - keep it up. X

Loopy-Loo, thatโ€™s me ๐Ÿ˜‰! Must be the holiday spirit thatโ€™s doing it ๐Ÿ˜Š.

Read this back and realised it cd be taken tbe wrong way - meant looping the loops with ur running. ๐Ÿ˜‰

in reply to Fionamags

I only took it for looping loops ๐Ÿ˜‰ but also happy to be loopy too ๐Ÿคช๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜Š.
