The weather gave me a break yesterday after work, keeping it's rain firmly locked in the heavy clouds, so out I went! Another 30 minute wobble in and around my local little park. Funny enough I thought I was wobbling pretty slow, but my watch tells me I ran at an average pace of 7 km/h, which is faster than in the past. So it must mean I have gotten faster without wanting to. Funny...
If the weather allows me tomorrow I'll do another 30 minute wobble in and around my little park and I might throw in a couple of fartleks again. My previous run on Saturday with the fartleks made my watch raise my Vo2 Max from 39 to 40, so the watch must like fartleks.
Friday will be another 30 minute wobble (weather permitting) and then I have a week off from work. Again weather permitting, I'll do a long run on Sunday, but I don't know how long yet. I don't want to strain anything after my calve injury so I don't know if going for 60 minutes immediately would be a good idea. Will need some thinking. Also having a week off I will have to slow myself down and not do a long run every other day, despite wanting to. Though I could of course do 5 km for example instead of 30 minutes (which is around 3,5 km). I'll think about it.
In the meanwhile with my wobble yesterday I started on the Conqueror English Channel Challenge
Great running, now to tackle your aversion to running in the rain, it can be really refreshing and once you conquered it you only need to decide the clothes to wear for the conditions rather than whether or not to run 😂Happy running
Myeah the problem is that I am not healthy. I get 4-weekly IV's that suppress my immune system (today I am to go to the hospital for another one) and when I run in rain and I think combined with cold or wind, it really is physically bad on me. A soft drizzle in warm weather is ok, but rain + cold / wind and I suffer the rest of the day. So I prefer to keep out of the rain and protect my health 😉
I use a numbing salve on my arm for the IV's, after I nearly fainted the first time I got one. It's not courageous, but so what. I'm not a courageous girl 😉. Besides that it is ok, I don't have any pains anymore (so far), so the IV's are doing a good job.
