First 6km: Managed my first ever 6km today so... - Bridge to 10K
First 6km
Keep it up, that 10k will be soon smashed πͺππββοΈπββοΈ
Well done. Know what you mean about families being bored with running talk-I see my family's eyes glaze over when I start on the subject ! We VRB's totally "get it" and will never be bored by reading about your progress!
The best way to avoid them being bored about you talking about running is not to start talking about running, let them ask first, then you can tell them what runs you have ran recently, if you don't start the conversion one of them will probably ask if you have actually stopped running. π
Keep on talking! I canβt get enough! ππ
I am lucky as for years the only person in my family running was my husband, so he enjoys as well me asking more questions he can answer. π€£π€£
Have you seen this race which has an unusual 7.5km distance. findarace.com/events/sami-f...
I am tempted. I ran my first 10k last month, but I had the flexibility of deciding on which day I run. So choosing the next 10k is quite daunting. But 7.5k sounds like a great way to ease into 10k racing.
Any, enjoy your new long-distance (beyond 5k) running legs! They are awesome!
That is a good length and feels manageable - pricey though!
Yeah, I seem to remember it had an early registration price of half that, but I missed that.
But the only other option for me is to just run an official virtual 5k race, like in the Edinburgh Marathon Festival at the same time.
I found once I ran beyond 6k I thought it was feasible to enter official runs and races.
And 6k is such a great distance! Big congrats again! πππππ½ππΌββοΈ
Well done! Ha ha keep talking running π
Well done Chesterlove! Itβs such a great feeling π. I witter on endlessly to my partner about whichever run Iβve just done, I think heβs given up listening! All the best. ππΌππββοΈπ¦Άπ
See under my initial reply Almorr offered me a useful tip which may work for you.
Woohoo well done Chesterlove! Happy photo too. πππ
My family flee when I arrive back from a run. Whoeverβs unlucky enough to get caught by me really wasnβt quick enough to leave the room and soon regret their error! π
Know the feeling think my husband zones out once I speak about running π€£.Well done on your 6K! ππ»ππ»
I think that's why my husband started running. Now he gives me detailed reports of every run, in fact every kilometre and hill rep! I just "go for a run", get excited about the very rare pb, but otherwise just log the distances on my spreadsheet and any virtual challenge I have on the go.
Well done!
