So I got my first medal this morning in freezing sunshine, in glorious Bushy Park. it was the Bushy 5/10k Spring run, which almost completely followed the Parkrun course (2 laps for the 10k runners) but with rather fewer runners which did make for a pleasant outting. I marshalled yesterday's Parkrun as I was running today, so have enjoyed the park twice over the weekend.
The temperature was only 3 oC at the start and I was properly shivering so much I could hardly operate my phone to set Strava going. I tend to get pretty hot running so had dressed for probably rather hotter than the 10 degree + that is usually recommended but luckily soon warmed up and was grateful by the end that had.
Super pleased that I almost managed a pb with 26:16, and somehow came 11th and the 4th woman in the 5k race (think all the speedy runners were running in the 10k)! Not too shabby for a mid fifties, complete non runner until I started C25k at the very end of January...
Think my grin sums it up
