Thanks to the encouragement on here I signed up for a 10K Race and I’m proud to say I ‘ran’ the lot which was my main target and I beat my 75 minute estimated time too. 66 minutes.
I ran through Tatton Park in Cheshire. Gorgeous place to run. I saw two stags with antlers intact, lots of sheep and a few planes (it’s near Manchester Airport). I wish I had taken the time to take a few pictures. The course is nice and flat too which makes a change from my local parkrun.
All in all it was an impressive end to my time on JuJus magic running plan!
Thanks again everyone

I’m not sure what’s next - I’m a bit worried about that. From couch to 5k to 10k to couch...? I’ve just got a new job so leisurely post morning school run runs are a thing of the past and it takes a fair chunk of will power to get out in the dark wet evenings - especially as I have to get in from work pick up my son and wait for my husband to get back before I could go out.
I’m definitely going to sign up for Manchester 10k which is in spring. I’m going to as a minimum keep up with parkrun over winter and then re train for 10k in spring I think. Hopefully that will keep me off the couch. I’d like to do more over winter but will see how it goes. What are your running plans?
Ha, we are all proper runners! I was worried before I signed up to the 10k that everyone else would be athletes and I shouldn’t apply BUT people on the forum convinced me to give it a go. It was like a big friendly park run - just a bit further - I was feeling fine at 5k then realised I had another whole parkrun to go... I kept calm carried on but got a real boost when I saw 7k at that point I thought I can do this. I really enjoyed it - in training I got up to 9k and wanted the 10k to be more momentous than just running to the next town and back. Really glad I did it. Lots of different people there. Some did it in just over half an hour ... and the rest of us were a fair way behind. All ages too - I remember them clapping in a gentleman in his 80s. Good luck on Saturday at parkrun- I’m marshalling this week as we were a few people short this week. A half marathon would be amazing
