Good morning runners! After a lengthy 2 week gap for no other reason than absolute lack of motivation I dragged myself out for a slow 5k this morning and it was hard work! 5 mins Kms seem a long long time ago and was more like 6min Kms today, slow, quite uncomfortable and not very enjoyable....but it's a start! π€£
And yes I was still sub 30 mins for 5 k but only by seconds π€£π€£ so slow in relation to my usual speed, just didn't feel like I had that extra gear to step up to.
I hope everybody well I've barely been on here lately, feel like I've let the COGH guys down a bit taking such a long gap.
Not sure who's fit and who isn't at the minute in gonna have to have a read through a lot of posts for a catch up π€£

Well done for dragging yourself out there today ! If I could do your timings I would be ecstatic π Iβm frustrated as I canβt get out there until my calf strain behaves π‘ but I get loads of motivation just reading other peoplesβ experiences.. maybe we just need a bit of warmth and sunshine to feel better .. keep going πββοΈ
Iβm just getting back to it after a couple of months pinned to the IC and would be happy with anything less than Iβm managing at the moment Jericho2332 - which is 10 minute per Km! So Iβm very impressed with your timings after a 2 week lay off - now youβre out there again, Iβm sure youβll start to enjoy your runs again soon! Welcome back to the fold, itβs good to have you back!
Well done Jericho! I love your honesty re lack of motivation π. Thereβs many, myself included, who can only dream of your speed! All the best πββοΈππΌ.
Well done on getting out there, still fast in my book! Seems pretty quiet on here, a few on IC, other things going on, hope you'll soon be feeling it more, we need our team leader!!! π¦π¦π¦
Fully committed again now, it's scary how quickly it becomes so easy to just sit and do nothing! Not going back after all the good work of the last 6-7 months πͺπ»
Yeah does seem quiet, a lot of new folks doing well so hopefully we can encourage them as well as help some of the regulars once there back on there feet!
I understand about lack of motivation. Following advice on here not to put pressure on myself, I just went on a few 30 minute runs, when I felt up to it. I had a lot going on, but felt sufficiently motivated this morning to run for a little longer.
Good to see you back out there. For whatever reason sometimes it is hard to stay motivated 100% of the time and we have to drag ourselves out. But you dragged yourself out and did with style. A sub 30min 5kπͺπ
Nothing wrong with having a little break. You will soon get back to how you were before. Itβs bound to feel a bit harder after a break. Iβm still on the IC. Was close to coming off I thought but need some more time.
Thank you π awwww sad to see your still a way off full fitness! Best to be safe though and wait until your 100% hopefully you can get back soon for the weather getting better π€π»
Not fit here, have been ill (still am a little - migraine at the moment) and haven't been out in 1,5 week either. Despite your being 'out', it does seem like you did not lose a lot of fitness. A sub 30 5K is something I can only dream of!
