Back to 30 minutes this morning

I was determined to get back to 30 minutes so I trotted off this morning using an NRC guided run to make sure I didn’t give up and I didn’t. Yea. I found it a bit hard but wasn’t struggling so I could have carried on but decided to stick to my plan of slowly increasing one run per week for the next few weeks to see if I can get back to 5 k. Slow and steady as they say 🤣🎉🤣🎉🤣🎉

That’s really good, I think it’s harder returning than doing this first time round because right in the beginning there’s all that newness without a thought for the hard work involved, I’m a lazy runner, I just plod on with no plan and sometimes i plod on for longer, I was hoping to find my running legs this morning but they are no where to be found, maybe 5 days post surgery was a bit ambitious, maybe tomorrow

Yes maybe a bit early give yourself time to heal and then take it slowly the runs will still be there for you. Be gentle with yourself you’ve had a rough few months your legs will tell you when you’re ready to run. Take care.

I don't know how invasive your surgery was but sounds to me like your body still needs to use it's energy to heal. Why divert that towards running? You'll run better when you're properly healed.
