Pact made last night with couchphoenix (AKA coach) to go for an early morning run, my first run before work.
Well as this was a day of firsts I wore my new running shorts ( lol legs didnβt look to white in the dark at 5am!!) long sleeved running top and gilet. I literally jumped out of bed when the alarm went off. I felt so motivated and it was nice to know that Geoff would be out there running as well. I stayed on the main roads where there was lots of traffic and was well lit so felt very safe. I ran up to Clapham Common past work, thought of my friends working the night shift (will be back there in an hour and a half!) More steps for my daily step count. I thought how great it felt to be running again and feeling so much stronger than I did 3 weeks ago.
On one of the 3 minute run segments I must have pressed the pause button by mistake and I think I ended up running for approximately 5 minutes.
I wasnβt expecting to enjoy the early morning run, but I did, I am a convert! You were right Coach! I am so happy that I am now able to run on a work days and so incredibly excited to be starting week 4 on Saturday.
Happy running everyone x

We did it ! Both got ourselves out there for an early morning post work run as agreed plus you got those running legs out for the first time π πββοΈπββοΈ
So glad you enjoyed your first early morning run and it made you feel good for the rest of the day. Youβre a star Rebecca βοΈ youβre doing so well, Week 4 already !
Iβm guessing those legs will be making further early morning appearances in the near future, well done!
Yaay, Well Done us! You have converted me. I am already thinking about doing a early morning run tomorrow, although not 5am!!
Lol it felt good to wear them and I did not feel self conscious which I thought I would. I remember what Birdlady said to me about not carrying about what other people think and i held my head high and felt proud to be able to go out and run again.
Thank you so much. I canβt believe I am starting week 4 tomorrow. I am so glad I started C25K again it really is bringing me so much joy. It felt amazing yesterday when Sarah says you must be feeling tired now, I actually wanted to shout out No Sarah I am feeling amazing and feel I could run for longer!!
lol slept so well last night I did a total of 22,392 steps yesterday, my most to date post Covid!
Well done Rebecca, that's another one ticked of, it's amazing how many early morning runners i see, on my way into work, glad you stick to well lit up areas, still not sure about joining you and Couchphoenix so early πββοΈπββοΈAnyway week 4 here we come!
Aww thank you so much Peter. Yes I was very aware to stick to well lit areas going out so early. It felt so great by the time I left for work at 7am had done so much. I canβt believe how early you start work, may I ask what you do?
So excited about starting week four tomorrow. It is so great to have goals.
I'm a coach driver, which, at the moment, just involves taking kids to school, then taking them home in afternoon, so with schools shut for easter, no work for 12 days.Do you work for NHS?
Your work is very close to my heart, having lost 2 sisters, and my wife, all spending their last days in diff hospices, where the staff were so kind, and careing. π₯°
Thank you so much Al, it wasnβt something I thought I would be doing. It really did help with my energy levels during the day. Completing week 4 will be such a big achievement for me. I am so glad I have been sensible and am doing C25K again it truly is so amazing how it works.
Thank you so much Fiona, I think making the pact inspired me to do it. Well done on your hills you are doing amazing I have never encountered hills on my runs have all been flat!Take care and thank you for your support
My favourite place to run is the canal towpath - dead flat π. But its crawling with people so have had to find other routes. I thought it was time to tackle a hill and this is a perfect 5k circuit - apart from the bumps, that is. π€£π€£π€£
Brilliant news! Glad to hear you didn't feel too fatigued even after your shift. Aren't our bodies just wonderful things π€ well done for braving the shorts, I have a tan line where my capri leggings end (I wear them in all weathers unless it's absolutely freezing) so I don't know of I'll be brave enough to wear shorts, maybe I'll just fake tan the bottom of my legs ππWeek 4 next! Woohoo π€ΈββοΈππ₯³ππͺ
Thank you so much Sola I canβt believe how well it set me up for the day made such a difference to my energy levels. I think you are amazing being able to run after work. Take care x
What a lovely read! (you are distracting me from working)I'm so pleased you are able to enjoy your runs again, and that you gave your shorts an outing.
You've both motivated me to get up and go out before work - I really enjoyed doing that that last summer. You get a great buzz that lasts most of they day don't you?
And I was a tad warm in my tights yesterday, so maybe it's shorts time for me too!
Aww thank you Birdlady, he he sorry for distracting you from your work!!
That is great, enjoy. Yes it is so amazing I could t get over how great I felt. I am going to continue with the early morning runs now and the running shorts π
lol yes felt great yesterday, tired today and slow, but I am sure once I have gone for a walk will feel so much better. Take care and have a lovely day. Got a new washing machine/tumble dryer so delighted with it especially the tumble dryer!! Amazing π what makes you happy these days! X
Hope your strength continues to grow. That was so great to hear. Sounds like that run was a really good one... and possibly even a game-changer for you. π
Thatβs fantastic Rebecca! Lovely too that you and CP made a pact together, thatβs a good way to spur you on ! Morning runs are a fab way to start the day.
Once I get the ok to run I will be redoing the C25K. Osteopath doesnβt want me to go back to running like I was doing before my injury. I need to build up again and so I told her I will restart C25K.
Iβm going to be wishing the weeks away until Iβm doing a solid 20 minutes again but your weeks seem to be flying by π.
Iβm so pleased you are able to run again after having that horrible virus.
Sorry for the late response. Yes was such a motivator and I canβt believe the difference in energy levels I have experienced, so far.
That is fantastic news that you will be doing C25K again, we will all be behind you supporting you through it. Honestly it is the best thing I have done. I just didnβt know how to restart Without pushing myself too much (which I am very good at!). I really do feel such a difference in my strength it is such a fantastic plan and the weeks really do go so quickly. I canβt wait to go out and run again tomorrow.
lol you will soon get there, this is a big week for me as last time I tried to run 5 minutes on my own I got bad chest tightness but yesterday felt fine.
Thank you, I canβt believe it is nearly 3 months since I was ill, really does knock you for six.
I hope you are enjoying your walking the weather is getting so much nicer now.
Have a lovely day. Sorry for my late response catching up on posts.
Thank you! Donβt worry about late reply. Iβm trying to catch up on peopleβs post too βΊοΈ.
My daughter is going to join me on the first week (she did that last year too when ai began C25K), so that will be so lovely to have her by my side π₯°.
I reckon it could be a few more weeks yet until I start, will have to wait and see, but good I have a plan. Iβm going to have Sarah Millican as my guide again, as I love her!
If you like podcasts, listen to Obsessed with Line of Duty on BBC sounds. Craig Parkinson ( Dot Cottan from LoD) hosts it and his first guest is Sarah Millican!!!! She is hilarious! π Definitely worth a listen.
All the best for that 5 min running week, keeping everything crossed for you π€π».
Oh that is so lovely that your daughter is going to run with you, how special for you.
The time will soon pass and before you know it you will be back running. We will all be supporting you.
Oh me too she is brilliant I love her accent she just makes me smile associate her voice with happiness.
Oh wow thank you so much for that I will listen to it. I feel asleep last night during part of line of Duty so need to watch it again the bits I did see was sooo good! Hooked already!
Hope you have had a lovely day, so wonderful to see the sunshine.
Take care
Rebecca xxx

I managed to stay awake last night as the clocks changed so it was like watching it 8pm. It is so good. Canβt wait for next weeks!!!! π
Enjoy the podcast.
Iβve been on a couple of little walks my 2yo son today enjoying the sun π₯°.
Fantastic!! I canβt wait to watch it again been really busy today.
