Hello all. So I've still been out running 4 days a week until this week. I've had an ache in my lower back but could still run. I went out on Monday and had to stop to walk a few times.
I'm 90% sure its my Sacroiliac joint. The photo which I screenshot from the Internet is exactly where I'm feeling it.
The doctor is phone call appointments only and the physio department aren't seeing anyone.
So I've searched online and have found a few physio videos online and taking some ibuprofen. Also what is really helping is freeze gel.
Has anyone on here had this before and if you did what helped you.
As I said above the weather is sunny and about 15 degrees, so I'm just getting extra walks in with Buddy until I can run againππ

Oh Buddy take care of yourself. There are Physio's near us who are now doing face to face appointments so might be worth ringing round. If not you might find one that can do a virtual appointment via zoom, not exactly hands on but might be worth a pop.
Sorry to hear this, its so frustrating π€Not so nice today here but still gardening weather π. In glad you're still able to get out dog walking. Look after yourself.
I've used online physio and actually it's pretty good. You can get quick appointments too. Just make sure they're HCPC registered
Oh Buddy! I always thought you were superhuman in the way you steered clear of the IC. Take care of yourself and I hope you manage to see a physio soon. Some are offering face to face appointments again where I am so it might be worth investigating, especially if you can find a sports one. Good luck
Hi Buddy,I just got off the IC 3 weeks ago with the same ache. I found out I have scoliosis, but more importantly and quite funny - have weak butt/hip muscles. I was surprised as Iβve been running just over a year. Physio gave me a regimen of glutes/hip centric exercises. Iβm much better after 3weeks and a weak off running. Now I donβt get the surprise pain when getting out of the lounger later in the day after Iβve stiffened up.
Sorry to read about the injury. I don't know it, but I have suffered from my Ischeas nerves before. Take good care and make sure not to strain anything! G'luck!
Sorry about your injury Buddy34, I hope it won't be long before you can get back to running, however, like me a few weeks ago when I was on the IC for one week you could still walk (not) parkrun with Buddy your dog.
Sorry to hear about your injuryIt's probably worth seeing if you can get an online consultation if you can't find as anything local hands-on. Has to be better than self diagnosis. Good luck!
So sorry to hear that. I have scoliosis and lower back pain. I find that lots of stretching and every 2 weeks I visit an osteopath for treatment. Not quite there yet but hopefully soon. Itβs possibly something you could try as the osteopaths still seem to be working. π€
Sorry to hear youβre struggling. As others have said, probably worth trying for a physio appointment, as the ibuprofen and freeze gel may alleviate the symptoms, but not necessarily solve the problem. Iβm sure it wonβt take you long to get back on track, as you are obviously very fit.Did you see Edinburgh was the warmest place in the country yesterday (19c) π³ Bet that doesnβt happen very often!
So sorry o hear about your back issues. You have my full sympathy as a fellow back suffererπ. π€your home remedies will work. Take it easy and enjoy the walking. πππ
Just a thought, 4 days running is quite a lot so perhaps cut back to 3 and do some cross training or walking on the 4th day.Pounding hard pavements is hard on the back , so switch it up with some grass tracks / softer ground.
Check your runners that they have suitable support and shock absorption.
Hi Buddy. My lower back responds well to lying on the floor with my feet on a sofa & knees bent - think chair shape but with your back flat on the floor. Boringly, it takes several days in a row of 20 minutes at a time to do the job. But it often wards off further trouble. Also, my chiropractor is working so thatβs another route to try. She prescribed glute & core exercises for strengthening support and if I am very diligent I get much less trouble! Good luck.
Sorry to hear about your back pain- it can be so debilitating, can't it? No words of wisdom to impart but sending sympathetic vibes your way. Good you can still walk OK - the weather has been glorious the last few days! Hope you're sorted soon.
