Run after work

I’ve spent today mostly on the computer it’s been tiring and I arrived at work this morning really fed up and left equally fed up

We keep talking about getting back in the practice of running after work and it’s 8 days since we ran, drove home this afternoon (it’s all of 1.6k) thinking I don’t want to run only to arrive about 4 minutes later to find that Willow really does listen to me as there he was all dressed up ready to run, well I couldn’t say I don’t want to run could I?

So I bad temperdly threw a chicken in the oven and changed so off we went

It wasn’t that it was hard it wasn’t that it was busy because it wasn’t but it wasn’t very enjoyable either. We ran for just over 2k each and I played my next instalment of Zombies Run and music, Willow ran naked because he couldn’t get his watch to find his music but we ran and that’s the first after work run we’ve done fir ages so we should be smiling and garmin loves me as i have a fitness age of 49

Happy mother’s day to everyone whether you are a mother or not

But you did it Sola, so massive well done to you! Hopefully it’s the first of many post-work runs you’ll have now that the days are getting longer - isn’t it lovely!

I remember when it said i what the fitness age of 79 and was in the bottom 40% of people my age, I’d just run 8k and thought it should know better

I have had problems like you but on the iPad spent all afternoon trying to fix . Couldn’t send emails just receive. What a hassle but not got it working 4 hours later. Hope you had a good run anyway and enjoy your chicken dinner and the rest of Mother’s Day. I did my run this morning 5 km new pb 36.35 so better morning than afternoon. Enjoy the rest of your day😀

What a brilliant run you had and thanks, i’m sure we will The butchers invoices have been haunting me for over a year so there were over a years worth to process i’ve been battling with them for so long to it’s a bit of a relief but will feel finally successful if they don’t come back for me to do something else with them, it’s a complicated system

Thank you. Wouldn’t fancy your paper work. It’s as bad as my partners having own painting and decorating shop his paper work is never ending and doesn’t get finished till late, but not so bad just now as still in lockdown. Have a good evening 😀

Nice run for you after work, you must be very pleased with your fitness age being under 50👍

Considering my daughter is almost 47 yes thanks Al

AlMorr profile image
AlMorrAmbassadorGraduate10 in reply to SueAppleRun

A few more runs then your fitness age will be the same as your daughter, unless she runs as well, her fitness age could go down too.

SueAppleRun profile image

No she doesn’t run but she walks the dog a lot

Well, you did it and the pic clearly says ‘good’. .. meaning one measure, but maybe you could try extending it to the run??!! 🤷🏼‍♀️ In retrospect?? 🤷🏼‍♀️(Ok, maybe not.) But I hope the chicken turns out to be so; in fact, sure it will. HMD!

You are perfectly entitled to be grumpy sometimes.Well done - a post work run for the two of you. There' nothing better to cheer you up and destress. And what's more Mr Garmin loves you 😍

I hope the chicken didn't object too violently to being thrown into the oven like that!

Enjoy the rest of Mother's Day!

And to you too, the chicken was delicious thanks I’m just really tired after a week of getting up really early, then working late I’ll get over it 😀

Well done for dragging the grumbling gremlins out with you and showing them who's boss!

It’s good that Willow encouraged you to run by being ready. Running does help stop me from being grumpy, even if I don’t particularly enjoy the run. Sometimes a run like that just makes me want to go out in a couple of days and have a fabulous run!

Yes I totally agree, I was feeling right out of sorts today but although tired i do feel a little less miserable

You put your gear on and got out the door...that’s a win! Well done Willow for being ready to run, and giving you the push needed to get out.

Sometimes we just need to get out in the fresh air, don’t we. Glad to hear you felt better for it (and Mr. G agreed!), and the chicken survived it’s manhandling 😂

Thanks, it was good to run even though a bit of a struggle, looking back I can’t believe we did most of c25k after work days

I admire people that work so hard and have to fit in the time to run. It must be hard sometimes to find the energy when you are knackered after work. So well done Sola! 👏🏻💪🏻

Fabulous that you came home grumpy and tired but still managed to get out for a run - finding time to hurl a chicken at the oven before you went. I love it!!!! Mr Garmin is impressed too. Your next run will be great now you've got this one out of the way.

SueAppleRun profile image
SueAppleRunGraduate1060minGraduate in reply to Fionamags

Our next one was supposed to be this morning but first had to take car to garage and then pop in to hospital for vaccine and after that a quick trip to open shops and now could go back to sleep again

Fionamags profile image

I'm exhausted just reading that. 🤣🤣 Give yourself a break - some folk need a day or so to recover after the vaccine. You feeling OK?
