Hello all. Last week really wasn't great , my mood really took a nose dive. I still pushed myself out to run but each run was a struggle. I keep loads of stuff to myself and really shouldn't but after having a blether with my sister I started to feel better.
So today it is sunny and just a beautiful day. So I thought I'd run up the cycle path where I eventually reach a place called Hillend Loch. I can't really explain it but I've got a thing about being next to the water and I managed 16.29km.
I'm feeling better again and I know what to do if I don't, is just to pick up the phone.
I wasn't sure about posting this but I think its good to talk and be honest.
Hope you enjoy the photosπββοΈπββοΈπππ€

Looks absolutely beautiful Buddy, no wonder thatβs where you need to go. Nature puts everything in perspective and yes youβre right, itβs always good to talk about the rough times as much as the good times π
Lovely photos of Hillend Loch, many years ago I used to cycle there.Glad you enjoyed your run today after talking to your sister on the phone, good to know that you like running next to water, my graduation run nearly 3 years ago was ran next to water along the prom at Helensburgh.
If you are ever down at Helensburgh again, park the car in the car park near the pier and have a run along to Rhu and back to the pier, it's not too long a run but very pleasant next to the water.
Cracking pics, sorry to hear about your struggle last week. It's a very similar story to lots of people, me included. Fresh air, nature and water are all great mood lifters. If you love water maybe you should try some OW swimming, for me it's one of the best ways to feel better and the endorphin surge afterwards is such a healer. (If you can deal with the cold) βπ₯Ά. Hoping to get back to it once the weather heats up!!!
What an stunning place to run, it looks really special π And what an amazing distance, well done you!So many people are going through ups and downs at the moment, I hope at least it means we're all more willing to open up a bit more and start to have honest conversations about mental health. Glad you're feeling better, it helps to talk π€
Great post Buddy, I think most of us need to get better at admitting when we're struggling and just talk honestly about what's bothering us. I can usually talk myself round, and am guilty of "not wanting to bother anyone" with my worries. But if its really getting to me like the start of lockdown did last year I'll talk to contact my 2 sons, they are great at helping put things in perspective.
Back to running.... What a fantastic distance well done, such a beautiful place to run mother nature really helps too x
Glad you shared your feelings today Buddy 34 itβs important for each and everyone of us to know whatβs on our minds and how we are feeling. Great you had a blether with your sister too it helps to get everything into perspective. We all have a light starting to emerge at the end of this awful tunnel, but what a glorious site and light where you ran to it looks gorgeous.
Keep running especially to this happy place. Take care and keep safe
Thank you Over62. You'd think with all the running and dog walking I would be okay. Sounds silly I know . But things can just creep up on us when we least expect itπ€π€
π€π€ beautiful photos Buddy. I find it so calming and peaceful to run or walk by water. Glad you have someone to talk to and are feeling brighter. X
Morning Buddy, what a glorious place to run, love to see those photos, so good to have special places to support you, they sure are a blessed resource, especially when itβs hard to talk. I feel so lucky to live close to the sea, itβs my go to place for some restorative time and such a great companion to run or walk with whether I feel low or happy, itβs always there to soak up happy or sad tears. I too have a tendency to hide when I struggle, and I think I should only share progress and positive things. It can feel so hard to reach out with our own worries and feelings. I think itβs a great strength that you are able to keep running even when itβs a struggle and definitely a good way to look after yourself even if it doesnβt feel great at the time.
Sending virtual hugs for a better day for you again today π€
It's certainly an emotional roller oyster at the moment and I find that any downward mood swing seems to be enhanced massively. But I'm glad you spoke to your sister and it helped. Here's a virtual hug π€ and try to keep talking π
Gorgeous scenery Buddy. Balm to the soul and glad you feel better after talking to your sister. Your VRBs are all here for you too. We have all needed a bit of a lift from time to time over the last interminable year π
