It's been a bit up and down over the last few weeks. Too many early mornings in darkness resulted in trying to switch to evening runs a couple of times.
The net result had been a bit of confused body a couple of odd runs but this week had been a bit better.
Midweek I set off for an evening run in a new location not quite realising how long the incline was. I managed to do 5 x 1k runs over the time available between family taxi runs.
Today I was determined to put my runs together into a single longer run. I set off with a bit of a plan in mind to do 7k. At the end of my road I was going to go down the hill to join the canal at one point but changed my mind and headed up the hill to go to a different section of the canal. I think the mood was set and in the end I ran for 8k.
I am determined to get myself back up to 10k runs periodically and have had a few 6s and 7s already. I was pleased with my run today I had a pace in mind and was in the right ballpark.
I have signed up to do a 5k charity run in December called Jingle Jog. I don't recall anything being mentioned in the small print but the picture is last year's run! What have I let myself in for!!
Happy running everyone, keep putting one foot in front of the other.

Good that you ran 8K today Richard, you seem to be enjoying your runs🏃😊. Well done on signing up for that 5K charity Jingle Jog in December. Where I live there is also a Christmas 5K charity run on 2nd December , it was on that exact same course that I ran my PB 5K run of 32.25 in September, not sure if I'll run it again on 2nd December.
Perhaps he knows if did have a Santa outfit on that he would sweat so much in it that he could no finish the run, not really a excuse for not wearing one as its December, considering what some of the runners at this years London Marathon wore in 23C temperatures he should have worn a Santa outfit.
Hi Richard, Glad to hear you are out and about running the odd 8km. Well Done! I was wondering where you'd gotten to. I haven't managed a run in the darkness yet - I am doing 2 runs per week at lunchtime. One long run at the weekend. This 4 seasons running take a bit of getting used to. How are the intervals going?
Still very much here just not posted for too many weeks. Intervals were going great. Normally I do them on a Wednesday morning and could not face the early rise recently. This week I ran on Wednesday and did not want to do intervals because I was not so familiar with the location. But I intend to get back to them soon. I might have to switch days to make it happen.
Having done Parkrun in an elephant onesie yesterday to celebrate our first birthday, I can tell you with bitter experience how hot it is running in anything other than running gear. So good luck with that! 😅😅😅😅 Looks so much fun though. 👍😀
Well done for fitting runs in with family taxi driver Richard.
Yes we are doing a Santa run on 9 Dec and pick up our costumes at the end of the month - so excited. It was watching the Santa run last year that inspired me to start c25k.
I think I might lose the trousers though; they look awfully hard to run in.
I look forward to everyone’s posts in December 🎅🏻🤶🎅🏻🤶
Didn't realise how many Santa runs there are out there.🎅 My daughter and I run one on the 2 as well so may need to trade piccies. We're all laid low with illness at the moment so not much running going on here so well done on your 8k and I'm just a tad jealous.
Thank you. Looking forward to not having a house littered with snotty tissues!....the kids, not mine (not sure how they forget where the bin is when they're sick).
Hope your are getting more yourself very soon. My daughter said she would run it with me ... but don't think she has signed up!! Good luck with yours. In a way I am glad there was no mention of the Santa did on the entry as I probably wouldn't have done it .. but I am secretly looking forward to it myself.
Mine didn't get a choice as it's the charity she volunteers for and it was her idea .....bit of blackmail did mean she kept going on c25k programme though and I'm very proud of her. Have a good run and I look forward to seeing the suit.
