Conversation in our house this week has been all about how cold it is, Willow hates going out in the cold and I’ve been cold at work so easy not to go out for a run
Things change though and it’s still light at 4pm when I leave work and 6 degrees is promised for tomorrow
So conversation has changed too..... I want to run tomorrow, Willow says it might rain!! for goodness sake man! let’s at least try and be positive it might not rain.... watch this space
Happy running everyone and total respect for all who got out in the cold and snow

It's been Sub-Zero here all day and still way too much partially melted and refrozen snow and ice to run. I'm getting desperate...Had to make do with a slow and careful 6k+ walk today with Mr B
4 degrees forecast for tomorrow so am crossing everything but have a feeling it may be Monday before I feel safe enough
Snow and ice still here thawing very slowly - it's still only 2.8 degrees on the back wall of the house.I think I will make do with a walk in a while to get some fresh air and wait until tomorrow to run.
I enjoy running in the rain. It will be nice to go and not have to avoid 🧊 all the way. Might have to get rid of the base layer for a few days! Enjoy your runs 😊
Covid is horrible, I’m so glad you are recovering just take it slow and don’t push yourself it takes a while to get over I was in hospital with something similar last January 2020 and a couple weeks later went out for a gentle run, looked back and all i managed was 1.6k at a slower than slow pace, few weeks later was back to 5k
Well I’m hoping it won’t rain too hard or even at all as I want to run off all my birthday treats from today. I’ve had a smashing day. A lovely load of cards from friends and family. A beautiful pair of trail shoes although I did start to use them before my birthday. I also received a scrummy Thornton’s indulgence chocolate cake from hubby too.
My brother who lives in Richmond in n.Yorkshire sent me a beautiful goodie hamper filled with chocolate of various kinds , macaroons, Earl grey tea, almond biscuits, and fruity chocolate truffle biscuits.
I had a beautiful homemade chicken fried rice with all the trimmings prepared and cooked by my hubby and tiramisu for pudding washed down with a lovely bottle of Prosecco. Then a fantastic time spent watching Wales beat Scotland ( Sorry AlMorr) in the rugby. Although it was a pretty close run.
So all in all I’ve been thoroughly spoilt. And it’s been a wonderful day. I’ve been so blessed.
I think it may have to be a long run tomorrow 🤣🤣🤣🏃♀️
Happy Birthday and wow what a lovely lot of treats, when you go for a long run you will think of how much you enjoyed them, treats sometimes are special
Thank you so much Lottie. We had a little bit of snow here in Llangrove .but that didn’t develop into much. Yes it was a nail biting finish.😬😬I’m afraid I’m an honorary Welsh woman. My husband is welsh and I’m a geordie. We met in the army in 1982 and married in 1984. We celebrated our 37 year wedding anniversary on the 4th of Feb. So all in all it’s been much celebration albeit quiet. Just what we like. 👍😀😀
A little like us...born in Kent...met at Aberystwyth Uni...lived in Kent and Ipswich, moved back to Wales in 1983 to stay. Even as a child though, I supported the men in red 🏉 🥰
Hope you get out tomorrow! A bit of rain can be nice and refreshing 😀I must admit I like the cold for running. I’m going to have to run early morning in the summer!
I’m happy running in shorts and tee shirt and getting a nice runners tan, I didn’t even know that was a thing but two summers now I’ve been amazed at how white my feet look against nicely tanned legs lol I’ve been cold for so long I’m not sure refreshing rain will do it this week but I do feel the need to get out and run
I can relate with how horrible it is feeling cold at work all time. I worked in a school for a holiday club and it was freezing in the Winter! I had to go back home for a shower on my lunch break to warm up. I couldn’t bare it. Hope its dry tomorrow 🤞🏻
Thanks, i hate cold, but when we do run I warm up nicely, we should have run Friday on my day off but i had a blood test I’d been putting off for months and knew if we ran I wouldn’t get it done, I’m hopeful for tomorrow as long as i can resist the roast dinner at lunch time
When I’m cold, the only way to warm up is either exercise or a shower. These cold mornings I have been stepping into a hot shower and then going out for a run. It helps wake me up and warm up my muscles.
Hope it doesn’t rain and that you’re able to go out!
Yes it's been so cold and icy this week I've envied those who have treadmills and indoor bikes and don't have to brave it and pick gingerly through the slippery bits. Here's hoping you can manage to get out today in the 'warm' conditions. Rain is good as it washes away the sweat 😂
Its certainly been cold, -12 with us at 8:30am on Thursday but temperature definitely heading up now and so much longer hours of daylight. Hope you get that not too wet run today. Happy running 🤗
Thank you and hope you get out too, it’s 5 degrees here this morning and the difference is amazing, shame i have to go to work first but someone has to
Haha! I so know where you're coming from. I keep saying tomorrow, tomorrow but every morning I bail out. Yesterday, I swear was the coldest it's been here for a long time. The wind was biting. Tomorrow though is another day. The temperature is due to rise and I, like you am keen to get out there. So that's my plan. Tomorrow I'm going come what may. Watch this space.....and I'll watch yours 😂
I’m really hoping to go today after work, it’s valentines though so my plan is to get home out dinner in oven go for a short run get back and have a relaxing evening it’s not below freezing here any more I shall watch out for yours
