I intended to run 12K tomorrow as I have mentioned on other posts, however, the weather forecast for Wednesday morning is heavy rain and possible flooding, part of my running route has been flooded for weeks, I cycled around it on Sunday to find out if it was still flooded, but no, just a bit muddy with no flooding, hence the run this morning, I was hoping for a 90 minutes run, my time this morning was 90.43 seconds so 43 seconds over what I wanted, nevertheless I enjoyed my run, especially the bit which is no longer flooded, at least for now, after tomorrow it might be flooded again.
12K run a day early : I intended to run 12K... - Bridge to 10K
12K run a day early
That looks such a beautiful route Al, well done to you for the 12K ππ
I imagine we might see a lot of muddy paths now as itβs going to rain over most of the country for the next few days so you made a wise decision there!
I did take a photo of my running route last week, it is a very nice part to run on, the extension on the west of that map, looking like a person's foot is through woodland floods an awful lot when it rains, so with the weather forecast for rain β tomorrow it could be flooded again I decided to run a day early.
Well done AlMorr and you're right you picked a beautiful dayπ
Yes it is a lovely day today, they say tomorrow will be heavy rain β so I decided to run a day early, I know that you love running in the rain, so tomorrow you could add more miles to Lejog. π ππΎ
That sounds just right, glad you enjoyed it and got it in before the next lot of rain comes to puddle up your route too much
A fantastic run, the forecast here for tomorrow is heavy rain. I think you did the right thing to run today.
It is well worth it to listen to the weather forecast, nowadays they are seldom wrong.
Great run. Al, and beat the next rain ππ
ππππ
That's how you do it pal! 7.5 miles just like that. Great stuff mate.
Great that you managed to sneak that run in ahead of the weather. It's so changeable at the moment, every day is an adventure! There is a butterfly and lots of bees in my garden right now. The butterfly really surprised me.π¦
Fab run Al and if that's the same place as the photo from the other day, what better way to spend and hour and a half π
It is the same place as the photograph the other day, the good thing about today was for the first time for a while I could run in the woods, that part has been flooded, it was lovely running there without any puddles, at least for today, perhaps with the forecast heavy rain it will be flooded again tomorrow.
Well done on a great Run and such a great time too. Just lovely to read you enjoyed it. And bigger well done on dodging that π§ rainπ
I have ran in the β rain, especially my graduation 10 miles run in July, however, with the weather forecast about rain tomorrow I thought it was best to run today which was nice and pleasant after a few mist patches around 7.30 am, I began my run today just after ten o'clock.
Great day for a run AIMorr, autumn definitely arrived this morning a mist before lovely sunshine, you made the right move, the 43 seconds well thatβs a challenge for another day. When I run tomorrow morning in the rain, Iβll wish Iβd moved my run day around too!
Hereβs to the next runπ
Great run Al; nice time too. Think I am going to get very wet on my long run this week. Looks ok for tomorrow morning but someone has booked that out in my diary!!
A lakeside run must be beautiful .
You might be able to to avoid the rain, just depends when the rain starts, I had a look at the cloud and rain radar charts, heavy clouds and rain are now in the west of Ireland, it won't be long before it reaches us in the UK, even if its raining enjoy your run tomorrow like I did today around that lake, called a loch north of the border.
PS. There is ONE lake in Scotland, its called "The Lake of Menteith"
Well done on that run. Glad you missed the rain due today π
I missed the rain yesterday and IF I had ran at the time I wanted I would have also missed the rain this morning, I had intended to run the 12K run starting at 7.45 and completing it around 9.15, but as the forecast was for rain on Wednesday I ran it on Tuesday, this morning the rain started after the time that I would have completed the run.
Aww well your hard work is done. Maybe you can have a rest day today π
Well done Al πππ 12K sound really good congratulations π₯³
The weather here in the NW is awful today rained all day and not managed to do my run πββοΈ Waited all day βΉοΈβΉοΈβΉοΈ Will see how it goes tomorrow π€π€π€
Thanks MccHa, I enjoyed that 12K run yesterday, the rain where I live wasn't very heavy, in fact I could have ran that run earlier this morning, I hope you get your run tomorrow, it's to be nice before more wet a windy weather comes associated with Storm Alex at the weekend, I understand it won't be long before you return to sea, once you are back at sea I hope you will still keep in touch with us all here on Healthunlocked.
Great run for you there Alan, hope the flooding has held off ready for your next one π
So far OK, no further flooding, I did buy those trailer shoes for muddy conditions, not for running through ankle deep puddles, the run was very enjoyable, next Wednesday I intend to run either 8K or 18K, depending on the running conditions ππΎπ
You're aiming for a HM in your future I assume Al, good luck with it π
