Whatever the weather

I was meant to do my 50 min run today but the rain is so heavy. I have kept putting it off all day. So tomorrow whatever the weather I am going out early in the morning. The run might turn into the 30min one dependant how heavy the rain is. Did anyone else manage to get out today?

Luckily for me, today was my rest day 😃 don't be too hard on yourself, I think it's okay to change our running days if the weather's too awful, safety first! Have a great weekend and a good run, rain or no rain 🏃‍♀️👍🌧️

I'll be joining you tomorrow for an early run - not convinced weather will be any better but I have to go away for a couple of days and don't want to get behind with the plan- I'm loving it ( may feel different tomorrow at 7am!)

Same time as me let me know how you get on. Are you doing time or distance?

Week7 profile image
Week7Graduate10 in reply toNicky2603

I'm doing for time plan. The distance plan would be a bit of a stretch for me right now . Once I have finished the time plan I am aiming to move across to the relevant week of the distance to eventually work my way up to 10 K.

Good luck tomorrow!

That’s my plan too.

Morning_did you run? If so how was it?

I stayed dry_ish and had a lovely run. Hardly anyone around on a damp Saturday morning so not too many games of " dodge the dog walker".

Not very fast but thoroughly enjoying the longer runs.

I was a bit of a cop out 7 this morning, I waited till about 10 then went out started off slow thought I would only do the 30 mins but it turned into 50 mins. Going to upload my runkeeper. I did get wet and muddy as ran through the woods twice. But it felt good. Glad you got out and stayed dryish. Also there was no-one around which was a bonus.

Sounds like a fun run splashing through the woods!

You do realize if we keep going like this we will be running for a whole hour in a few of weeks! Not long ago 30 mins was a challenge_unbelievable!

I know that’s hard to believe. I am enjoying the plan so much I like having something to follow I have never run before.

Oh no poor you. Glorious sunshine all day here, lovely 10k this morning in summer kit. Lunch on the decking in t-shirts. Not often Scotland has the best weather. Hopefully you get a fantastic run tomorrow. Happy running 🤗

There is a Amber rain warning from the Met Office for the East of Scotland for Saturday Grannyhugs, yes its been a beautiful day here in Scotland, I took advantage of that by running my 16th (not) parkrun this morning around Buddy34's home parkrun course at Drumpellier just outside Coatbridge.

Well done you, a great run away from home. Well done. I really made the most of the good weather today, plenty indoor things to do tomorrow 🤗

Meant to be doing my 8k run tomorrow, but heavy rain forecast all weekend so not sure it’s going to happen. Might try and reverse the order this week and do the 4K instead. Think I could do with the extra rest as both the 4K and 5k runs were really difficult this week, as my left leg seems to have decided to turn into a stiff plank of wood on both runs after less than 1km. No idea what I have done ! Just when you think you have got the hang of this running game, something else unexpected comes along!

I hope you are ok. I think I will do 30mins tomorrow but if not too bad will carry on. I have missed it today. Good luck tomorrow.

Yippeee, managed to do the 8k this afternoon, a couple of mins slower than last week, but after the awful 4 and 5k runs during the week, today’s run was much better than expected. So now more than halfway on the B210K plan! Have a good week running.

I was listening to the weather all day... eventually I got ready, and when it sounded nice and calm I checked out of the front door and there was nothing but blue sky and fluffy white clouds all the way to the horizon. Off I went feeling very smug... I don’t mind the rain once I’m running, but I hate it in my warmup. 1-0 to UNM, take that weather!

Then, as I got to my start line, I looked up and realised that the prevailing wind was absent... the lovely skies were being replaced by dark clouds rolling off the hills... damn, ok, after consultation my goal was disallowed and in the confusion the weather had snook into the lead. As soon as I pressed start, the heavens opened, I may as well have stood under the shower before I came out... 2-0 to the weather, but too late to back out now. A mile of rain streaming off my optimistically selected sunglasses and into a strong swirling breeze, this could be a run that sucked. Not even half time and I’m 3-0 down.

Then the strangest thing happened, as I got a mile in, the sun came out, the wind dropped, and suddenly the wet running gear was an advantage... I was going to stay cool!

Long story short... I hit my fastest 10k of the year with a really enjoyable run.

Have a great one in the morning, rain or shine.

I managed to get out before the rain started. Nice dry body but my poor old feet were positively squelching in my trail shoes 😏

Managed to squeeze 10k but found it a slog. Couldnt quite get my rhythm til 4k and a bit slower due to puddle dodging!! My legs were really tired by the end but luckily the rain held off til 9k.

Any tips on how often to run 10k?
