Went out today, a bit later than usual, dry, down here, and no flooding like i'm seeing on the news, hope everyone's ok 🙏
My daughter had mapped out a new 10k route, taking us through another local village, including the road, where we had lived for 15 years, which was nice. Wasn't sure how it would go today, as i've a cold coming, i think, at 5k, route went near our house again, incase we needed to stop, which we almost did, as my daughter had bad stitch, even had a couple of walks, but wouldnt go, but she wanted to keep going, i've trained her well 🤣 anyway, last few km's along canal, quiet today, a few other runners about, 2 gazzelles went past us, at speed, twice 🥵 stopped at 10k, even though tempted to do another 3.5k to get to 100, for jan, next time! 😊
Once again, hope everyones ok, with all the flooding. 🙏

Another 10k!- well done, you're smashing your target- I only did 6k today, but I'm fine with that after my twitchy knee- hope you aren't getting a cold🤧
Thanks, feel much better today, maybe the run, blew it away! 🤣 hope your niggly knee is ok, mine seems alright, does make me laugh, when we say, a short 6k, wouldnt have said that 5/6 months ago, i almost had to stop at 5k today! 🤣
This is fab considering how new running is. Dusting of snow and some ice here again. I’ve ordered a treadmill to keep me going till the better weather. When that kicks in up here is patchy though ⚡️❄️☀️☔️💨 in a day
We're lucky down here, not alot of snow really, not been cold enough for ice, for a while, treadmill sounds a good stopgap, dont think any gyms will be opening, anytime soon! ☹
I’m repurposing my dining room lol. Eaten in twice a year, will now be a wee gym. 3 lots of gym fees cancelled and the treadmill will pay for itself in no time. Still looking to the joy of purely outside running. 🏃🏻♀️☀️
Your right, 10k does seem a bit easier now, blimey, did i just say that!!! 🤣 was a bit worried about this cold, but was fine, was ok yesterday morning, went out for a walk, afternoon, pretty wet, and miserable, and suddenly my nose was streaming 🤧 even, during the evening, but now, it's fine. 🤷
It’s amazing when you start to think ‘oh, I’ll just do a 10K today’ and you know you can! That’s what happens after you’ve run for 10 miles. Then you start thinking ‘mmm maybe I’ll work towards a half marathon’ !
Oh yes! I’ll do what I did before. Drop to 10K for a couple of weeks. Then another 10 miler, drop to 10K for a couple more weeks .. then I’ll do another HM. Taking it steady and listening to my body. 😊
Fantastic effort , great run again with your daughter. Wise to leave that extra 3.5k for next day, that will be such a celebration passing 100km. Happy running 🤗
I was looking at your old post, about your 9k run, with short walk intervals, was telling my daughter today, when we had to walk briefly, with her stitch problems. 🤔
Ah yes - I remember that one well.I think it's fine to walk for a bit - especially if you have a stitch! You just have to get past that mindset that says it's cheating somehow.
It is so counterintuitive that you can go faster by walking though isn't it
Hey.. well done another 10km and sooo close now to your target!! Pretty bloody amazing 🤩 I hope you’re not coming down with a cold and can get out in a day or two to round up your big 100km 💪🏼 Bet those gazelles that passed you haven’t racked up 100km this month!! 🦌🦌🦌
Thanks, actualy feel better today 🤧 the gazelles were going very fast 🥵 i always say to myself, bet there doing a short one! 🤣 hope your not getting too frustrated, not running atm! ☹
Glad you’re feeling better! I’m still out of action 😫 Been taking it easy, just walks at the moment and stretching. Walked part of one of my regular runs yesterday and all I could think was “I’d usually be running this!!” Boo! Hoping to try out a gentle run early next week 🤞🏻
A nice 10k in the bank, well done Peter44 👍 nice to have a running companion along for the ride too, she sounds as determined as you, a chip off the old block 💪🏻🏃♂️🏃♀️
Thanks, yes she did really well today, determined to keep going, even though she was struggling with a bit of stitch, it funny really, as i did all my c25k, on my own, she only started running with me, maybe, 2 months ago, it's nice as we can do alot of talking too.Had a call from my mum's care home tonight, to say she's tested possitive for covid, which isnt good! 😪
Bet it’s great to know you’re only 3.5km away from 100 in a month-that’s a mere stroll for you now! That half marathon sounds like an achievable goal over the next few months. 👍🏻🦌
Well done on another 10k! Is is so nice to be able to run with your daughter. One more run and you will have smashed it 💪
Haven’t been out since I saw the sports injury clinician. I had a deep massage on both quads and hips. Omg! Getting through it was harder than C25k, nearly asked her to stop on a couple of occasions🥵
Going to see how I feel tomorrow as they are still sore after treatment.
I was surprised to hear that a regular deep massage would help prevent the muscle damaged I have accumulated over the past few months.
Is it just me, but I don’t seem to read about anyone else being this sore. I think I’m going to stop JuJu’s plan at the minute and do shorter runs to see how I go. My mind is willing but my body doesn’t seem to be😩
Your massage story made me laugh, i hurt my back, running, pre first lockdown, and had a massage at my gym, blimey, she left me with bruises, i think it helped! 🤣 dont know about your aches, i probably dont do enough stretches, pre/post runs, but doing shorter ones, should help. 🤔
Amazing!! You and @Grannyhugs are on a roll. Right thing to save the 3.5 for next run. There’s plenty of time left, and it’ll be so good to cross the 100 with a full tank... perhaps more in spirit of a fun run celebration? Will be interesting to see your kilometerage on 31st. Cheering you on 📣
