It's been a busy week this week but still managed to run 2 x 5ks during the week and 10k today π
I run a brand new route today at Rother Valley Country Park, which is half an hours drive from my home and somewhere that I spent many lovely times as a teenager, messing about in boats β΅
I went there to check out the route as I've entered a 5k race there in November! Eeeeek! π ππΌββοΈ
The intention was to run around the lake once, have a coffee and go back home... But it was so nice I ran round twice π€£
Enjoy the rest of your weekend xxx

Your running is going so well! And what lovely photos π Well done, 2 x 5km in the week and 10km on a Sunday is just what I would want to do - perfect! And if only it would always be sunny on a Sunday, that would be the icing on the cake π€£xx
Itβs a big reduction in milage and high effort running before my HM next Sunday... Iβm just pleased that my plan only gave me a one week taper... two would be awful.
Thank you Granspeed β€οΈ No really sure what sort of schedule I'm running here π It's a bit of following Ju_Ju's Magic Plan and a bit of making it up on the day π€£ but I like it and it works for me π
You do live in a lovely part of the world. Sounds like a perfect running week. I hope you still managed the coffee after your double circuit of the lake. Your 5k race next month will be a doddle. Have a great week. Xx
Iβm doing ok thanks. My ribs are feeling a lot better which is great as I was struggling to sleep. My foot/ankle/lower leg is a very impressive collection of colours. Predominantly green and purple with some red thrown in.
I managed a very slow walk with husband and dog in the woods today as I really wanted to see the last of the autumn colours in the sunshine - it looks like winter will arrive tomorrow. I would love to be running but I know I just have to be patient. Iβll get back out there soon.
Iβm enjoying reading how you and all our VRBs are getting on and looking forward to joining you in a few weeks. Happy running my dear. Xxx
Oh no Puppy-love it sounds like you went with a real bang! Do you have to go back to the hospital for any check ups? How was your confidence on your feet when you went for a walk? I'm so sorry that you've had this set back but I know you will come back stronger and more determined than ever before!
Thank you, Ali. Iβll see a physio but not until I have less pain. Iβve had sprained ankles before but nothing like this. I was pathetically shaky on my feet in the woods. Even a little twist is painful and Iβm nervous about making the injury worse with a false step. That said, every day is better than the last. I limped around the local park with the dog today and that felt like a win. Itβs funny how my dog knows that something is up with Mum. She normally sprints off when we get to the park but she kept checking back and walked beside me a lot of the time, looking up as if to say βThatβs right, you can do it. One foot in front of the other...β
Sending lots of love back and looking forward to reading about your first HM.
I can understand your temptation to go round twice, beautiful place for a run...at least you know now that you'll smash it on race day! Eek indeed π
