Calf sprain , I think 🤷🏼‍♀️ . I had a slight niggle at end of my last run (6K) three days ago which didn’t seem to linger. On this run it started up again in the last Km (which an be seen in splits as I pulled back a bit ) and became pretty uncomfortable on walk home.😕 Got quite sore over the course of the evening , sore to the touch and sore to stretch. Today I can tell it’s not a serious injury , I’ve been out a couple of short dog walks and it’s not such an acute pain. I can tell though that I’m getting some ‘over compensating niggles’ further up my leg due to my slight ‘hobble’ 🙄

Still ,on the bright side, Scotland has a fair bit of snow forecast , so it’s a better time for it to have happened . I have a couple of good books to get on with and I’ve got a good excuse to watch the whole of the US inauguration without feeling guilty 😂👌(Obviously I would want to be keeping my leg elevated with lots of coffee etc 😂)

I don’t think I’ll even think about a run until at least the weekend, longer if necessary.

The run itself went well and I was happy that I’d managed to get out . The morning had started with another hard frost and it didn’t thaw until around 4pm. I managed to get the run finished just as the pavements started glistening again as the temperatures dropped once more 👌

Happy with my pace and enjoyed the run just disappointed that this happened as I was getting my routine back again .

I’ve decided not to let it get me down tho’ , 2021 is going to be my ‘rise above it’ year 👌😂

To the right of this photo is an incline I’ve found that I was going to do the NRC ‘Runner Up’ hill workout , decided against for this 3.5K which is maybe just as well , might have to leave it for a bit 😂🏃🏻‍♀️😂

A very good run apart from the calf injury (ouch!) Like you say, best rest it for a few days . Hope it gets better soon!

Yea, it was actually . Typically I held off until I was sure any icy , slippy conditions had disappeared as I didn’t want any injury 🤷🏼‍♀️😂😂Best laid plans .........🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️

That's an ouch RacingintheStreet 🥺

It sounds like you've accepted you're going to leave the running and heal properly 👍 only you'll know how bad it is but the attached links may help.

Thanks for that 👍 yea, fairly resigned to not running for a few days 🤷🏼‍♀️ I’m hopeful it will just fade away but I know it’s more than just a ‘niggle’ too. Thanks for the links , I’ll definitely use them 👌

Oh no!

Hopefully just a mild sprain...and as you said...just as well with the weather forecast.

Today was a recovery day for me...and it rained nonstop...so I watched the Inauguration too ☺️

Anyway, good looking run regardless...rest up and stay safe!

Thanks , yes I’ll just have to content myself and maybe do a bit of strength & stretch 🤷🏼‍♀️I did enjoy the run though 👌😊 Enjoyed the inauguration too , the young poet laureate stole the show for me 😄😂

Well done, that’s a good run! Hope the injury is just a minor niggle, but it certainly should be rested until it’s healed. Hope it’s not too long!

Thanks Jools , a bit frustrating given I’d just got a bit of routine back but hey ho 🤷🏼‍♀️ Maybe once I feel it’s sufficiently better it will be an opportunity to give Jeffing a try fo r the first couple of runs 🤷🏼‍♀️😂

Why not? It works for a lot of people and it’s a good way to build up stamina without pushing yourself too hard.

Sorry to hear that Racing. At least you're getting out. Well despite me saying I was gonna start the plan on Wednesday I didn't cos of the weather, but all ready to go NOW but I hope it isn't too icy. Yeah Runner Up needs its proper time, headspace, and place ☺️
